The liquid inside of Laphroaig Select is hand picked by Laphroaig’s Master Distiller, John Campbell, from the finest casks comprising the Laphroaig portfolio – Quarter Cask, PX Cask, Triple Wood and Ten Year Old – creating a subtle blend of peat, oak and sweetness. The bottles come in 750 mL bottle.
The inspiration behind Laphroaig Select, and the unique method of aging, comes from the history and family lineage of Laphroaig. Ian Hunter, the last founding family member to own Laphroaig, was influential in experimenting with new ways of distilling and was one of the first to combine American bourbon casks with traditional European casks to create new flavours. Laphroaig Select takes inspiration from Ian, creating a new expression with both classic and new flavours.
Drinking whisky is always better with others. Whether you make an Old Fashioned, have it on the rocks, or have it neat. Best to have this neat on your first try to be able to take in the peat and then the ripe red fruits from the PX and Olorosso casks. It ends on a warm feeling with smoke and spice.
