Aroma Truffle Chips was founded in 2018 in Singapore and has a reputation for being the World’s Strongest Truffle Chips. Made with 100% naturally grown truffles that are harvested and air-flown from Spoleto, Italy to Singapore, each potato chip is hand cooked and generously crowned with truffle bits, and then sealed in a sturdy resealable bag to ensure optimal freshness, aroma and crispiness.
These are currently available online at www.aromatruffle.ca and have been carrying three truffle chip flavours – Original, Parmesan Cheese and Honey Dijon. Recently, they have launched a new flavour Fiery Mala in Canada. Truffle Popcorn is another new product in two flavours – Original and Messy Choco. We were gifted all these to try and provide an honest review.
Taste Test
The original Aroma truffle chips is the one that started it all. It’s a best seller and I can see why. Once you open the bag, the smell is dominant. The use of the ruffled potato chips helps to add more crunch and more surface area for the yummy truffle seasoning. If you haven’t tried their chips yet, you gotta add this to your cart. It’s addictive!
Aroma Truffle Chips: Parmesan Cheese
The combination of truffle parmesan, and finished off with a hint of dill does clash. It definitely wasn’t my favourite as the dill was very strong for my tastebuds and the truffle and parmesan didn’t shine through as much as I would have liked.
Aroma Truffle Chips: Honey Dijon
Similar with the above, the truffle, honey dijon and mint felt like it clashed as well. The mint was a very surprising taste as I personally feel like mint just tastes like toothpaste. I wanted the honey dijon to stand out a little more.
Aroma Truffle Chips: Fiery Mala
The boldest flavour out of the bunch and the mala does tingle the tongue. It would actually pair really well with a glass of ice cold beer, but it feels saltier compared to the other flavours.
Aroma Truffle Popcorn: Original
This new line of black truffle popcorn really elevates the popcorn experience. It’s interesting to see the dried parsley added into this to give it a colour. You can munch on it to your favourite movie. The truffle is strong by very nice. Similar to the chips, there is a hint of sweetness at the end but it works.
Aroma Truffle Popcorn: Messy Choco
I was very curious about this flavour, but it works. You get the dominant flavour of the cocoa, then the aroma of the truffle. All while having the crunch of the popcorn. You get the texture and flavour that does pair well. I was pleasantly surprised.
