Mister Artisan Ice Cream: Opening on Robson Street in early April

One of Vancouver’s favourite ice cream purveyors is set to bring an icy cool array of frozen desserts to a new neighbourhood this spring as Mister Artisan Ice Cream opens its doors at 1193 Robson Street in early April.

The popular dessert bar is renowned among the city’s sweet-toothed foodies thanks to its signature creamy liquid nitrogen ice cream, which is available in creative and unique flavours that change with the seasons. Mister’s smooth scoops are made-to-order for each customer with pure, natural ingredients that are rapidly chilled in an impressive cloud of liquid nitrogen mist.

The new eight-seat storefront at Robson and Bute will be the third Vancouver outpost for the ice cream chain. Co-owners Michael Lai and Tommy Choi first launched their innovative Mister Artisan Ice Cream concept on Mainland Street in Yaletown in 2016. The team expanded in 2021 with the opening of Kitsilano’s Mister Ice Cream Bar, a counter-service spot specializing in elevated ice cream sandwiches, hand-dipped ice cream bars and frozen bananas.

Mister’s new Robson Street location will offer a rotating lineup of scratch-made liquid nitrogen ice cream – available by the scoop or pint – in addition to ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars and frozen bananas. Mister will also be launching a brand new signature creative confection at its downtown outpost later this spring: an ice cream bun featuring liquid nitrogen ice cream sandwiched between fluffy cream buns.

An atmospheric space with a cool, minimalist design, Mister Robson Street was brought to life in partnership with Vancouver-based design firm Scott and Scott Architects, who also collaborated on the previous two Mister locations. The 768-square-foot interior evokes a snowy mountain cave aesthetic that is in keeping with Mister’s signature chilled dessert offerings.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new adventure and share our passion for delicious ice cream with the vibrant community of Robson Street,” says Michael Lai. “We can’t wait to create memorable moments and sweet experiences for everyone who visits our new shop.”

Mister Artisan Ice Cream Robson Street will be open daily from 2 to 10 p.m.  For more information and daily menu offerings, visit madebymister.com.
