Baron Semedi is a new Spiced Rum that has launched in Canada from the Gruppo Campari. Later in the year, it will be available in the United States, Australia and Mexico.
The 750ml bottle has the full flavour spiced run at 45% and 90 proof. It has Caribbean column still rum and small amounts of Jamaican pot still rum with cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and their signature pice – Vetiver.
Vetiver gives it earth and woody notes when drinking.
When you pour it out, it has a dark mahogany colour to it.
When we took the first few sips, it was smooth and rich. We don’t usually drink rum straight, but it is a good spiced rum to mix with Coke.
The Baron Samedi was one of the most notorious Vodou spirits since the 18th century. He was known to be raucous, unruly and loved his rum. A perfect fit for this rum and the art on this bottle
