Zac Zac Japanese Curry House: Hidden Gem in Downtown Vancouver

Hidden at the back of the H-Mart food court is Zac Zac Japanese Curry. A lot of people don’t realize that there is a mini food court here. Quick and cheap lunch can be found here.

I came here before to order their chicken curry a few years ago, but I always felt like I ordered the wrong item. They have cool varieties of curry from chicken, to beef, to tempura…to even natto beans. Natto beans are equivalent to how some people feel about Durian. It’s fermented beans and they are either loved or hated.

This time around I came here with M for lunch and he ordered me the Katsu Curry.

Katsu Curry ($7.98) it has rice on the bottom topped with a crispy pork and their signature curry sauce. It was really good!

The week after, I came here again with my coworker for lunch to have the same thing. It’s definitely one of my lunch favourites. It’s nothing fancy, but the prices are good and taste great. It’s pretty hard to find good Japanese curry in town.
