With the holiday season just a few weeks away, Ganache Pâtisserie is pleased to announce its Bûches de Noël menu for this year.  This year’s Bûches de Noël menu introduces a new modern yulelog creation to go with our 2 updated classics.

With a focus on tasty textures, Bûche aux Caramel Pécan Chocolat starts with a buttery pecan and cocoa nib Sablé Breton base while a Zephyr Caramel chocolate mousseline studded with crunchy pecan praline toffee pieces pairs with a milk chocolate pumpkin ganache in the middle of this bûche and the entirety is surrounded by a rich and smooth 70% dark chocolate mousse.   Bûche aux Caramel Pécan Chocolat will be available in a 6” size that feeds 6-8 people for $49.95 and a 12” size that feeds 12-15 people for $89.95.  Please note that the 12” bûche will be available by pre-order only.

Maintaining last year’s updated look, Ganache Pâtisserie’s two classic bûche de noël are the Bûche au Chocolat  which takes a chocolate roulade sponge rolled with a dark chocolate ganache and dark chocolate mousseline filling with cocoa nibs and finishes it with chocolate buttercream and a dripping chocolate glaze.  Meanwhile Bûche au Marron Café rolls a coffee chiffon cake with a Zephyr Caramel coffee ganache, a chestnut mousseline filling, chestnut pieces and vanilla buttercream finish.  Both yulelogs are decorated with chocolate end caps,  chocolate fans, traditional meringue mushrooms, fondant snowflakes, and holiday-themed chocolate décor.  Both traditional bûches will be available in a 6” size that feeds 6-8 people for $47.95 and an 8” size that feeds 8-10 people for $59.95.

All three bûche de noël  are now available for pre-order and they will have the 6” and 8” sizes available in their showcase starting Friday December 17th

In addition to the bûche de noël menu, they are happy to announce the addition of 2 new dessert creations to the Fall/Winter 2021 menu that was soft launched a couple of weeks ago.  Roulade aux Mangue-Ananas ($8.75) takes the traditional Swiss roll cake to another level with its tropical symphony of flavours.  A not-too-sweet mango chiffon cake is rolled with a tart and creamy pineapple cream cheese diplomat cream and the cake slice is enrobed in a coating of Ruby chocolate and toasted coconut that is finished with a flourish of vanilla Chantilly cream.  Caramel Malt Chocolat ($8.50) layers a toothsome flourless espresso chocolate cake with a malted milk chocolate and chestnut mousse and is topped by a light salted caramel parfait and chocolate cocoa nibs.

And with the holiday season, they welcome the return of our famous mincemeat tarts ($5.50) which are currently available on Fridays and Saturdays only, and the introduction of their new collection of Bijoux chocolate boxes.  Available in three flavours, Bijoux aux Ruby et Blanc Chocolat is a returning favourite that pairs white and Ruby chocolate with freeze dried raspberries pieces and cocoa nibs while Bijoux aux Caramel Amandes Chocolat is made with Zephyr caramel chocolate, 64% dark chocolate, toasted almonds and dried cranberries and lastly, Bijoux aux Chocolate Lactée et Fraises is a neopolitan blend of white and milk chocolate with dark chocolate and strawberry crispearl inclusions. The Bijoux chocolates are available in a box of 4 pieces for $9.95 or a box of 9 pieces for $22.50 and if you can’t decide, there is an assorted box of all 3 flavours in a 9 piece box as well.

Our harvest set menu is a great way to bring family and friends together, once again.”

Torafuku is celebrating their 6th year anniversary and they want to give back to the community. From August 26 – 29, 2021, they will be donating 10% of proceeds from the 6th Anniversary omakase dinner to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Children who suffer from complex and life threatening diseases like heart defects and brain tumors often require immediate surgery and around the clock care.  Sometimes, these fragile young patients require life-support devices to give them the best chance for survival. Your support would give these kids a chance to recover more quickly. The government only covers the basic operation costs, but they do not provide funding for equipment purchases and medical research. Your donations can impact the lives of our current and future patients at BC Children’s Hospital.

You can now get free root beer with any purchase from A&W Canada for the rest of the summer until August 31, 2021.

You will need to download their mobile app and you’ll be able to get one per day, per device. A pretty great deal if you’re going to A&W anyways. We will definitely be pairing this with a buddy burger or onion rings.

The app is available on both Apple and Google store.

Vancouverites, get ready to elevate your beach and brewery bites when Burgerland Smash Up’s new food truck hits neighbourhood hotspots this summer. Building on the success of Burgerland’s already-popular make-at-home ‘smash kits’, the food trailer brings freshly cooked, better burgers to some of the city’s most popular summer destinations.

Ready to roll with owner Bodhi Valentine at the helm, the portable pop-up will feature a menu of Burgerland’s smashing favourites in zero-waste packaging, including Classic American CheeseOklahoma Fried Onion & Cheese and California Up-N-Down, as well as a line-up of side salads like the Killer Slaw and the Smashed Tato Salad to complement the burgers.

Coming to a hotspot near you, some upcoming dates for the trailer pop-ups include: the Keefer Yard every Thursday (4pm to 11pm); Strange Fellows Brewing on Friday, July 30 (11:30am – 4:30pm); Locarno Beach on Saturday, July 31 (10:30am – 8:30pm); Tinhouse Brewing on Sunday, August 1 (12pm – 7pm); and Main Street Brewing on Tuesday, August 3 (3:30pm – 9:30pm) and Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8 (11:30am – 10:30pm). The full schedule is available at burgerlandsmashup.com and you can follow @burgerlandsmashup on Instagram for real time updates, daily locations and event announcements.

“I’m stoked to be able to bring our burgers to some of my favourite spots in Vancouver and introduce more folks to our mission of creating better burgers for everyone,” says Valentine. “We’re proud to carry on the burger legacy of the Cheezee Does It food trailer and will continue to serve some of the best tasting burgers around.”

Launched earlier this year by burger aficionado Valentine — who nimbly turned a COVID layoff in the tech sector into a culinary pivot and quest to help fellow burger obsessives raise their at-home burger game — Burgerland Smash Up also offers a variety of four-pack, all-in Smashburger Kits ($39.99) that include the California UP-N-DOWN Kit, the Classic American Cheese Kit, the Oklahoma Fried Onion & Cheese Kit and the double patty Big Mac-inspired Big Smash Kit. Kits are available for delivery during the week with pick-ups at the commissary space at 1380 Napier Street in East Vancouver.

All of Burgerland Smash Up’s kits are made fresh to order with pre-measured premium ingredients, freshly ground certified organic, grass-fed BC beef or Impossible™ plant-protein smashballs and instructions in zero-waste packaging. All recipes are available in vegan and vegetarian-friendly formats. As an additional nod to its earth-forward stewardship focus, Burgerland Smash Up is partnering with TreeEra to help offset its carbon footprint and donating $1 for every Kit ordered — the cost to plant one tree through the TreeEra planting program.
