Social enterprise Cà Phê Vietnamese Coffee House (160-422 Richards Street) is shining a light on some of Vancouver’s most talented makers with the launch of its first online Community Market. A celebration of diverse local artists, artisans, crafters, and bakers who create for positive change, the curated collection pays tribute to their heritage, then and now.

“We are lucky to be a part of Vancouver’s rich arts and culture scene, and are excited to be able to leverage our space to share and highlight our community,” says Minna Van, founder of Cà Phê Coffee House. “Among our collection, we have ceramics made from a 14th century pottery village in Vietnam, art prints from a local artist influenced by Sunday brunch in Chinatown, sacred Latin American herb blend eye masks to provide maximum relaxation, authentic street snacks from Laos, and many more to come.”

The online Community Market is available as two experiences to emulate an in-person discovery experience, as if browsing through a traditional market:

Participating makers include: Vibrant Afternoon, Saigonese, Bower Fibre Goods, Two Heart Notes, Jaune Tache, Community & Commodity, and many more.

Items will be made available for delivery and in-person pick-up at Cà Phê’s pop-up location inside The Network Hub (160-422 Richards Street).

“Because of COVID-19, access to these cultural goods has been limited,” explains Van.“Our Community Market puts an emphasis on a contactless shopping experience with safe and swift pickup for those visiting in-person. We hope everyone will visit the online store and support our community. There are many treasured gems in there to discover.”

The Community Market is on until December 23, 2020. Shoppers can also visit in-person and browse and purchase via QR codes to ensure a safe and contactless shopping experience. Sidestep delivery and pick-up in-store, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
