Nestle Toll House Cafe: Open at Guildford Mall

Nestle Toll House Cafe has opened its newest cafe at the Guildford Mall in Surrey – the first location in Canada! Gmoney works in the mall, so she kept me updated on when they would open. The reason why Nestle Toll House intrigued me was because of an old episode of friends, where Phoebe’s Grandmothers cookie recipe originated from a relative named “Nestley Toulouse”… which turns out it was a lie and was just the recipe on the back of a Nestle Toll House chocolate chip bag.

The serve up a lot of different items from cake cookies, brownies, cookies, cookie pizza, coffee, drinks…..etc.

There were lots of choices, which quite overwhelmed me as well.

I grabbed a few items to go. 2 cookies and a brownie came out to be around $9, which was really expensive. I don’t remember the exact prices, but I’m just guesstimating.

Button Brownie (~$3.49) has a mini chocolate chip cookie on top of a brownie. It tasted good and it was cute that there was the cookie on top. I found it was still a bit expensive considering it was just a brownie.

Walnut and Chocolate Chip (~$1.95) was really good. It was a bit hard to taste all the walnuts, but the texture was chocolaty and chewy.

Double Chocolate Chip (~$1.95) was also chewy and chocolaty.

Overall, the items are good, but there are still other places in town to get better cookies. I probably wouldn’t return since its a bit out of my way to go to Guildford Mall.

Words of Wisdom:

  • Can get Pricey
  • Large range of cookie flavours
  • A few seats
  • Located inside Guildford Mall

I was picking up someone too, so I thought it would be a good way to do 2 things at once. You gonna go anytime soon?

  2. OMG I thought of that Friends episode too when I saw your post title!! If your guesstimated prices are accurate, I have to agree that it’s a bit over-priced for cookies…unless they’re super good. I’ve had some good ones, and they’re in downtown, and the price is competitive…

I lost my receipt so I couldn’t figure out how many cents they were. I think i’m only at most 0.25 off. It’s super cool seeing the cafe, but since it’s a chain and based on it’s location.. the prices could be much better.

  3. I live near Guilford and been eyeing this place since it was under renovations. Ummmm tried it the over week while waiting in line shopping.. not so bad but I can make everything they can myself. So 5 bucks for icecream/cookie isn’t that great blah still .. made me happy for that one minute LOL
