Bel Cafe is participating in the Hot Chocolate Festival thats happening till February 14th, 2012. Since I work in the area, I thought it would be nice to grab a hot chocolate to go and sip it back in the office. What I like about it is that you get a cookie with your hot chocolate too.
The hot chocolate and the cookie will cost you about $7, but all proceeds raised goes towards food services programs of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre in Vancouver.
70% Valrhona Guanaja Dark Chocolate, orange oil, orange zest, roasted green cardamom
The initial taste of the hot chocolate was really good since the orange and cardamom taste really shined through. One thing I really didn’t like about the hot chocolate is the gritty taste, which didn’t make it very smooth. When it comes to hot chocolate, I am quite picky on the texture.

I honestly didn’t like the hot chocolate, but the cookie was delicious. Perhaps you will find this experience a bit different. It is still expensive for just a drink, but the money goes towards a good cause.
