Vancouver Firefighter Charities (VFC) is gearing up — and dressing down — to get pulses racing and set hearts afire across the Lower Mainland once again as it unveils plans for the launch of its 2023 edition of its hotly anticipated Hall of Flame Calendar.

Marking its 35th year as a staple of the VFC’s charitable fundraising initiatives, the annual project sees a bevy of Vancouver’s most buff, bold and bronzed professional firefighters doff their gear and donate their time to appear in a calendar that has raised temperatures — and more than a million dollars — for BC charities and local communities since its debut in 1988.

Fans can meet their favourite models from the 2021 and ’22 editions and watch the 2023 calendar candidates strut their stuff onstage at a Hall of Flame Selection Party emceed by 94.5 Virgin Radio host Holly Conway at The Roxy Cabaret on Friday, June 24. General admission tickets to the event are available for $25 per person, with a limited number of VIP booths also available online while supplies last.

Proceeds from sales of the 2023 Hall of Flame calendar will be donated to the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund as well as VFC’s roster of charitable outreach programs like Snacks for Kids and Lifelines for Seniors that benefit at-risk youth and seniors in communities throughout BC.

Off-duty firefighters will also raise awareness of and funds for the VFC’s many charitable endeavours by selling apparel and calendars and help members of the public to suit up in turnout gear at the West Coast Women’s Show Summerfest taking place at the Tradex in Abbotsford this Friday, June 10 toSunday, June 12.

“This is the first time since the launch of the 2020 Hall of Flame Calendar that we have been able to host an in-person event, so there’s a lot of buildup and excitement for this one,” says Hall of Flame Calendar Coordinator Brandon Kaye“We look forward to seeing fans come out to support the cause and meet some of our past Hall of Flame firefighters for the first time and cast their vote for who will appear in the 2023 edition. We’re extremely grateful for everyone who shows their support for a fun project that does so much good for causes in our community.”
