Hosted by Tourism Richmond, the first-ever Steveston Spot Prawn and Seafood Celebration began with the opening of the spot prawn fishery on Friday, May 6 and will run until June 5, 2022.
This is a celebration for everyone- with spot prawn sales everyday at Steveston’s Fisherman’s Wharf, cooking demonstrations at Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site from professional chefs the weekend of May 21 & 22, and a “Dine About” component for those foodies who love to eat but maybe don’t love to get their hands dirty in the kitchen.
From May 18 until June 5 at participating Richmond restaurants there will be special spot prawn menus for diners to dive into and enjoy the experience of true ocean-to-plate dining as all spot prawns will be sourced from the Steveston Fishermen.
