British Columbia is home to a booming craft beer and farm-to-table cider scene. The Silver Star Beer & Cider Fest will unite aficionados for a day-long event showcasing the finest local breweries and cideries. With travel restrictions lifted for the North Okanagan region and over 20 breweries, cideries, and a couple distilleries and ready-to-drink options on tap to pour this September 9, it’s a great time to come together in the mountains.

Tickets for the festival are available online for $45 and include the official Silver Star Beer & Cider Fest sampling mug, access to local food vendors, live music, in partnership with Local Losers Productions featuring bands, solo artists and DJs, and four beer tokens to redeem at participating breweries and cideries. A Combo ticket is also available for $60, with eight additional drink tokens added to the regular package. The Silver Star Beer & Cider Fest will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 9.

“We are thrilled to bring the community together and make the most of one of the summer’s final weekends,” says Cassandra Zerebeski, Executive Director of Destination Silver Star. “We will have live music and our special pop-up Polson Artisan Market in the village. With over 20 cideries and breweries joining the festival, there’s a world of flavours to explore. And for those who want to extend the celebration into a weekend getaway, we have some inviting accommodation packages.”

SilverStar Mountain Resort features an accommodation package with two nights at Snowbird or Firelight Lodges plus two Beer & Cider Fest Combo tickets starting from only $158.20 per person, plus taxes, based on double occupancy with the opportunity to add on a Granville Island Brewing beer pairing dinner at the Red Antler. Silver Star Stays is also running a contest on bookings made on their site until September 1 for a chance to win a two night stay, two tickets to the Beer & Cider Fest, and two SilverStar Bike Park passes. Check out Silver Star Stays packages and book online here.

Partners pouring at the fest include Northyards Cider Co, Fernie Brewing Co., Monashee Spirits, Marten Brewing Co. Cambium Cider Co., Russell Brewing Co. Shuswap Cider Co., Okanagan Springs, Yellow Dog Brewing Co., Ricochet Brewing, Granville Island Brewing, Kelowna Brewing Company, Leftfield Cider Co., Highway 97 Brewing Co., Copper Brewing Craft Beer, Lighthouse Brewing Co., Black Fly, Farmstrong Cider Co., Unleashed Brewing Co. and BNA Brewing Co.

“We are thrilled to be pouring at Silver Star this September. Our ciders are a perfect autumn drink – made from apples grown right at the base of SilverStar Mountain Resort on our organic orchard. We will be pouring our Whiskey Barrel Peach Cider which ages for six months in freshly emptied whiskey barrels, creating a smooth cider with notes of vanilla, bourbon, and peach,” says Melissa Dobernigg, Cidermaker at Cambium Cider Co.

For those seeking to immerse themselves in the festivities without taking their own car up to the mountains, a convenient shuttle service add-on from Vernon ensures every reveller can indulge and return home safely. All Silver Star Beer & Cider Fest guests must be 19+. Tickets are available at the event, but purchase online before Friday, September 9, for the best deal.
