World-renowned French pâtisserie Ladurée is celebrating the holiday season with a new exquisite Christmas Collection, featuring an exclusive collaboration with French jewellery house Mellerio dits Meller, limited-edition macaron jewel boxes, and a variety of Bûchette de Noël and Bûche de Noël flavours.

“This holiday season, we invite our guests to enjoy an authentic Parisian Christmas at home, with friends and family, or at our Robson Street tea salon,” says Olesya Krakhmalyova of Ladurée Canada. “Our Christmas collection offers a wide selection of beautiful gift options, which will satisfy true connoisseurs of French sweet delicacies from our beautiful gold and green macaron boxes this year to our classic Bûche de Noëls – it’s a taste of Paris in Vancouver.”

The Mellerio dits Meller macaron jewel boxes (from $40 for 8 macarons) are inspired by giardino, the heart of the garden of Isola Madre, the largest island of the Isole Borromee archipelago and a place cherished by the Mellerio family. The boxes feature a beautiful, embossed gold design on top of a deep green hue. The 16-piece macaron box features two layers that open up like a jewellery box.

In addition to the special macaron boxes, the Mellerio line includes a Christmas Macaron by Ladurée Paris executive pastry chef Julien Alvarez. It features two hazelnut macaron shells filled with a rich Piedmont hazelnut cream and a creamy gianduja ganache with a touch of acidity brought by candied lemon.

Along with Ladurée’s famous Marie-AntoinetteMarquise, and Favorite (pistachio) Bûche de Noëls, chef Alvarez has added a new one to the collection, the Forêt Noire ($11 for one; $75 serves 6-8). The fruit-forward yule log is made of 64 percent cocoa Manjari chocolate with a fleur de sel sablé biscuit, a chocolate biscuit soaked in amarena syrup and kirsch, a sour cherry and amarena compote, a 64 percent cocoa Manjari chocolate mousse, a Madagascan vanilla and kirsch mousse, and a cherry confit.

“There is nothing quite like Christmas in Paris, and we are honoured to be able to bring the French experience directly to Vancouverites,” adds Krakhmalyova. “Our Bûche de Noël recipes are exactly what one would find in France and in Ladurée shops all over the world. They are exclusively created fresh in our Vancouver laboratory by Paris-trained chef Eulalie Hermand.”

Other holiday gifting options at Ladurée include its classic macaron boxes and its collection of custom-made, luxury hampers (gift boxes starting at $140) available in a range of themes and colours and filled with Ladurée gifts, such as macarons, teas, jams, honeys, candles and accessories. Items can be ordered online with local delivery or curbside pick-up. Some items can also be shipped across Canada.

Vancouver’s Ladurée Boutique and Tea Salon, located at 1141 Robson St., is open for breakfast, brunch, and Afternoon Tea, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Sunday. Reservations are available and recommended by visiting www.ladureecanada.ca.

Macarons and limited-edition Christmas boxes are also available at the Ladurée Carriage Pop Up inside Holt Renfrew at 737 Dunsmuir St.
