Harmony Bakery is a hidden gem in Richmond for their rice rolls and congee. Of course, they sell many types of Chinese baked good, but what is surprising is their freshly made rice rolls. There’s lots of rice rolls in Richmond, but there’s not many that blow your mind.
They are located inside the Central Square Plaza where Lido is also located.
Interior
The space only has 2 tables with 4 chairs. There is a counter on the right and more baked goods on the left. There’s not much to this place. They just do what they do best and bake goods.
Menu
Steamed Beef Rice Noodle
The steamed beef rice noodle is made to order and there is a good amount of beef inside and once you add some soy sauce over top, it’s fantastic. You can taste the difference. This was our favourite.
Steamed BBQ Pork Rice Noodle with Egg
Next, we had the steamed BBQ Pork Rice noodle and we added $1 extra to have it with a fried egg. This was pretty good as well. The rice noodles had a great texture and the bbq pork was good.
Steamed Shrimps Rice Noodle
The rice noodles were great like the other versions. This one was a bit more plain as the shrimp didn’t add too much flavour.
Preserved Egg and Pork Congee
They have a small and large size, but we just got a small size to share. It was decent congee and it paired really well with the rice noodles. It’s pretty cheap, so you might as well get it too.
Final Thoughts
Overall, we were very impressed by Harmony Bakery and their rice noodles with congee. If you’re in the area, its definitely worth the visit. Also, make sure you bring cash. Everything is super super affordable and cheap.
