When deciding to travel to Edmonton, we went with WestJet as it was one of the cheapest options at the time. I don’t get the chance to fly with them that often, but when I do, it’s always a great time. We flew out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Edmonton International Airport (YEG) at 9am from gate B14. The flight was an hour and 15 minutes and was a quick and comfortable flight.

Interior

As we got on the plane, we noticed it was a 3 and 3 seat configuration. The flight wasn’t very full, so there was tons of space for carry on luggage. The overhead bins were large, so it fits all sizes of carry on luggage unlike some other airplanes.

This particular plane did not have an entertainment system built into the seats. There are some reading materials, tray and an outlet. You can tell this is a newer plane on the fleet.

The outlet has lots of inputs, so whether you have a cellphones, tablet or laptop, you can charge it all without worrying about battery life.

WestJet App

For this particular plane, we had to use the WestJet app on our phones to connect to the flight information and access movies and tv shows. It’s pretty useful, but you just need to know ahead of time to download the app as each plane is a bit different. For their movies and shows, they have current and older options. As the flight is so short, you won’t have time to finish a movie.

Complimentary beverages and snacks

The great things about WestJet is that they still provide complementary snacks onboard. They will ask you if you want cookies or pretzels, but you can ask for both. Biscoff is delicious!! They have partnered with McDonalds to offer coffee on all their flights, which is great because their coffee is not bad at all. On the cup, don’t forget to grab the sticker and card if you’re already a regular customer.

Onboard Menu

If you are still hungry, they have a few other options to purchase food onboard.

Final Thoughts

Overall, it was a good flight. Very simple, comfortable and no delays. For me, the biggest decision factor is price for a flight and glad we were ale to fly with them this time. I like how they haven’t cheaped out completely and give you some snacks on the ride.

To get from Vancouver to Regina, we chose to fly with Air Canada for their price and timing to make the most out of our days in Saskatchewan. Our flight was at 8:55am on a Friday and it was a full flight.

Boarding

We waited patiently as we boarded the plane at 8:25am. They checked out boarding passes and looked at our ID. As Canadian Citizens, we showed them our drivers license. If you are from another country, a passport is required. Boarding went smoothly and got to our seats.

The Flight

The 2 hour flight was on their Air Canada Express plane, which was a 2-2 configuration for seats. The overhead compartments are smaller than other flights I’ve been on, so getting my carry on to fit was a bit of a challenge and needed some pushing. Alternatively, you can store your carry on under the seat in front of you. Then you can put your personal bag up top.

The leg room had ample space, but then again, I am 5”3. So, I’m a bit on the shorter size.

Meals

We were offered a complementary beverage, so I went with my usual sparkling water with the full can as I get pretty thirsty. I always ask for the full can.

Menu

Entertainment

The entertainment system has some of the latest Cineplex movies, TV shows, games, song and flight information. There are wi-fi options available too.

If you need to charge devices, there is a USB port.

In-Flight

As for timing, the flight arrived and landed on time with minimal turbulence. Everything was as expected.

Final Thoughts

Even though people complain about flying with Air Canada, I’ve never had any issues with them and also the price is very good in comparison.

As we descended upon Regina, our Saskatchewan journey begins for the next 5 days.

Heading off to another adventure in Colorado to visit their gorgeous landscape created by the Rocky Mountains. I booked my flight with United Airlines as it was the cheapest option that was convenient for my schedule.

I boarded flight UA 381 on a Boeing 747 in economy on the weekend around noon. Getting through security at Vancouver International Airport is a breeze and the airport is very easily navigable.

Boarding

The boarding was delayed by 30 minutes as there was a crew member stuck in security, but it didn’t affect the arrival time as the winds were in our favour.

Comfort

The flight wasn’t full, so I had a whole row to myself, which never happens. I‘m so used to them overbooking flights. The 2 hour and 45 minute flight was smooth.

The seats weren’t cramped at all, but then again, I am 5’3, so I can fit mostly anywhere. The seats reclined a bit and the headrest to bendable to hold your head in place as you nap. Most people on the flight read a book, slept or was listening to music.

Food

We were given complimentary snacks and beverage. We got Bits & Bites and a beverage. I usually ask for the whole can of pop since I get pretty thirsty on planes.

You can purchase additional food and beverages from their onboard menu. Decent prices, but the food options aren’t exciting. Items like candy, sandwiches, and alcoholic beverages. I usually eat before or after flights.

Entertainment

There are power outlets under the seat, but no monitors. As for entertainment, you can connect your personal device to their wifi and use their United App to access movies and tvs shows for free. There was a good amount of movies like Toy Story 3, Step Brothers, Captain America, and other popular shows. I don’t mind having no screens on flights since it helps reduce costs for the airline and in turn give us customers a cheaper flight.

You can also purchase wifi access for a few dollars if you need.

Final Thoughts

With all the bad press United Airlines has gotten in the past, I found the experience totally fine. I make sure to arrive early and book connecting flights with ample time to catch the next flight and I don’t check in bags anymore. Plus, the price was really good compared to some other competitors.

Flying out of Toronto early in the morning means spectacular sunrises with the airport in the view. We were headed to Atlanta on United Airlines, but it is operated by Air Canada Express. The flight lasted about 2 hours and 10 minutes, which isn’t a long flight at all.

Comfort

The flight boarded smoothly and has no issues at all. The seats were pretty standard size and since it was smaller plane, it had 2 seats on either side. It was pretty full, so they did ask for some passengers to check in their carry on luggage.

Entertainment

There is a screen at the back of each seat and also USB plugs if you want to charge your electronic device like your phone. They have some pretty up to date content on these screens since they have a partnership with Cineplex.

The entertainment system has TV shows, movies and games, but I opted to just look at the map as I did some work on my laptop. I always find it interesting to see where the plane is up in the air.

Final Thoughts

It’s interesting to see United Airlines and Air Canada code sharing because I originally expected I would be on a United Airlines plane, but its Air Canada. Not a big deal at all. I was just happy to get from Toronto to Atlanta smoothly without issue.

On the way back home, we made a connecting flight from Chicago O’Hare to Vancouver with United Airlines (UA 0563) in the evening. I dashed to my gate and had enough time to grab some Garrets Popcorn to bring back. I ran past the beautiful underground path to make it to this flight, so bad I had to sprint past it to make sure it got to the gate on time.

Boarding

We boarded quickly, but there was an issue with the plane, so we had to sit tight on the plane for 45 minutes until they fixed the issue and got it approved. It delayed our arrival by a little bit since the winds were in our favour.

There wasn’t much to do while waiting, so everyone just went on their devices of watched some shows.

Comfort

This was the most uncomfortable flight I’ve had in a while. The seats were very hard and wouldn’t even recline by an inch. It looked like other peoples seats didn’t recline either and everyone was just confused. There wasn’t a lot of room and I’m only 5’3. The model of the plane was a Boeing 737-400 Jet. The total flight time was 4 hours and 35 minutes.

Food and Snacks

We got complimentary pretzels and a beverage, which is pretty standard for United flights. You can order off their menu if you want something more substantial. Decent prices, but the food options aren’t exciting. Items like candy, sandwiches, and alcoholic beverages.

Entertainment

There is an entertainment system on every seat and I was able to watch some Rick and Morty, which is pretty damn awesome. It made up for the cramped seating situation. There are ore entertainment options, but you will have to pay a little extra.

Final Thoughts

With the delay and cramped seating space, I really didn’t enjoy this experience. I tried to nap off the rest of the flight, but my back hurt and the lady next to me was flopping all over the place as she slept. We got from Chicago to Vancouver pretty smoothly with no other hiccups, which was fine.

Heading to Las Vegas, I decided to take a direct flight out of Vancouver International Airport. Last time I flew out of Bellingham, but I didn’t want to do that again as driving across the border is troublesome.

Air Canada had a good price and convenient times to board the plan in the morning. It boarded at 8:40 and took off at 9:20am. I was booked on  Air Canada 1832 in Economy class on a Boeing 767. It was operated by Air Canada Rouge, so the plane is newer, but it is a bit smaller.

It was busy at check-in before the flight, so I made sure to get my electronic boarding pass loaded onto my phone to skip the line.

The best ways to avoid waits is to only do carry on baggage and have

In the seat, there is one outlet for a computer or small device. I didn’t use it as the flight was pretty short.

Being 5’3 I didn’t mind the size of the seats, as I don’t take up too much space. The person beside me was a bit taller and his knees were pretty close up the the seat in front of him.

The overhead bins were a bit smaller, so they made me check in my bad free of charge as the wheels on my small suitcase didn’t fit comfortably into the bins. If you want to avoid checking in, make sure you have a compact suitcase.

The weather above was gorgeous with the rocky mountains.

We do get one complimentary beverage and I usually choose the tomato juice and it is scientifically proven to taste better in flight.

Overall, it was a good flight at a good price. It got me from Vancouver to Las Vegas with no issues. Landing and take off were smooth.

The flight I booked through United Airlines going from Vancouver to San Francisco was operated by Air Canada on flight AC 562. Perhaps they have code sharing or some sort of agreement. I was using Google Flights to get the lowest flight heading down for around $350 round trip. The flight lasts for about 2 hours and 30 mins.

We boarded quite promptly and was ready to take off soon after. It was very orderly and loaded very fast that we almost missed boarding.

air-canada-yvr-sfo-3

We sat pretty close up to the front of economy. I am pretty short at 5″3, so the economy seats are good enough for me.

air-canada-yvr-sfo-2

There is a USB plug, an outlet for other devices like laptops, and a touch screen entertainment system. I didn’t use the screen very much, but they usually have pretty good movies and shows to watch free of charge. I spend most of my time on my laptop.

air-canada-yvr-sfo-4

We got one complimentary beverage and I got tomato juice as it tastes a lot better in the air. True story according to CBC.

air-canada-yvr-sfo-5

We arrived 30 minutes early but no gate was available, so we sat until our gate was available. It was great we arrived early but too bad we couldn’t get off the plane. SFO is such a busy airport, so we just have to wait our turn.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-1

Off to our next destination – Orlando. From Vancouver, we made a stop in Toronto (YYZ) and then got on a connecting flight to Orlando (MCO). Air Canada doesn’t offer direct flights, so this was the only option at a cheaper price.

We were on the Air Canada Flight 1864 boarding at 2:45pm and arrives at 5:28pm. The duration of the flight is 2 hours and 41 minutes.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-2

Our gate was awesome! There were a bunch of iPads available to use for free. We were able to catch up on the news and browse our Facebook before boarding.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-3

The plane was an Air Canada Rouge fleet – Boeing 767-300ER.  The economy section has a 2-3-2 seating configurations and can seat up to 256 passengers. In business class, it has a 2-2-2 configurations and seats 24 passenger.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-4

There are no entertainment systems on board. They want you to rent their devices from them. Since it’s a pretty short flight, you might as well use your own device.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-6

There is a power outlet for laptops under the seat in front of you. If you have an iPhone, there isn’t a USB charger, so make sure you bring the adapter with you. Since I basically carry an entire desk with me in my backpack, I am always set.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-9

This time on the flight, I asked them for a whole can of soda. You can ask for a whole can and its free. You might as well since you do get a bit dehydrated from the flight.

They have food and snacks that you can purchase on the flight, but I never buy anything.

air-canada-toronto-orlando-7

As we began descending to the Orlando International Airport, the weather changed quite dramatically from the dull cloudy skies to bright blue. Very smooth flight too with no issues.

Now, our journey to Disney World and Universal Studios begins!

Air Canada Flight 1172 from Vancouver (YVR) to Toronto (YYZ) departs from YVR International Airport at 12:25am and arrives at 7:55am at Pearson international Airport. Total time of about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

As this is a domestic flight even though we were on our way to Orlando, Florida. There are a lot of connecting flights that go through Pearson International. Air Canada didn’t have a direct flight to Orlando.

We check-in online 24 hours ahead of time, checked our seats, and got our tickets loaded onto our phones. We also had to check a bag in, so it cost us $25USD. Pretty annoying how it’s in USD, but we didn’t have a choice.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-2

Since it was late at night, going through security was seamless. Staff were very friendly and if you are Canadian, you can show your passport, Drivers License or Government issued ID.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-3

None of the shops or stores are open, so you won’t have anything to do to kill time waiting for boarding. There is Wifi, so as long as you have a device of some sort, you can browse the internet.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-4

It was a packed flight, so they asked that anyone with a carry on that wanted it checked in for no additional price can do so.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-5

The row configuration is 2 -2 in Business class with 14 seats and then in Economy class, a 3-3 configuration with 169 seats. They use their Airbus A321-200 fleet.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-6

The seats have a USB outlet, touchscreen entertainment system and an outlet for charging other devices like laptops.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-7

They have pretty recent movies like Star Wars: The Force Awaken.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-8

Once the plane lifts off, they offer passengers a complementary beverage and the option to buy any snacks or meals off their menu. I went with water because I always get so thirsty on flights.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-9

Most of the flight, everyone is sleeping. There was a bit of turbulence, so there was announcements once in a while to make sure people have their seat belts on .

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-10

Once we get closer to Toronto, they offer another complimentary beverage.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-11

This time I went with tomato juice since it tastes a lot better in the air. There were studies done where loud noises suppress sweet flavours and enhance savoury ones.

air-canada-YVR-YYZ-red-eye-12

The flight wasn’t eventful, which it shouldn’t be. We were able to sleep through the plane ride with no issues. I can fall asleep even with the loud engine noises as it is a consistent noise.

We got to Toronto and had a long layover, so we explored the city for a little bit a met up with a few friends before heading off to Orlando.

Rice is an awesome part of a meal, I would have so much of it as a child that I had a phase where I was so over rice. As an Asian person, it’s pretty hard to avoid rice. It’s always pretty plain, but Chef John Higgins, Director of George Brown Chef School has a few tips to use rice in your dinners.

Tips on Cooking Rice by Chef John Higgins

Boil in broth: When boiling rice, substitute water for broth to add flavour to the rice itself and your dish. Chicken broth, beef broth or vegetable stock are excellent choices. Low-sodium broths add a punch of flavour without the added salt.

Try coconut: Cook rice in coconut milk for a mildly sweet flavoured rice which pairs well with curry dishes and other spicy recipes. Coconut flavoured rice with fresh slices of mango or your kids’ favourite fruit can make a fun, healthy dessert option.

Think flavour: Add spices to the rice’s cooking liquid for an aromatic and flavourful base to your dish. Star Anise, cilantro and turmeric are good choices, with bold, robust flavours.

Season early on: Don’t leave your seasoning until the end. Introduce the flavours of your dish early on. For maximum flavour, add the herbs or spices your recipe calls for into the rice’s cooking water.

Add veggies: Enhance your rice dish by adding frozen vegetables. Rather than cooking the vegetables separately, though, condense your cooking time by adding them to boiling water before you begin cooking the rice. Using pre-cut, frozen vegetables is more convenient than cutting fresh vegetables (while still being nutritious), especially when you are pressed for time.

Sweeten with fruit: Add dried fruit – such as craisins, raisins, dried blueberries and currents – to your cooking water to draw out the sweet fruit flavours which will infuse your rice with a savoury taste the whole family will enjoy.

Try rice for breakfast: Instant rice in particular is quick and easy, making it a convenient and nutritious family option. Add almond or soy milk, or your kids’ favourite flavoured milk, as well as dried fruits or nuts for a complete, oatmeal-like breakfast dish which can be served hot or cold. Prepare the rice the night before to save time in the morning.

Steep your rice: Infuse the rice with your favourite flavour of tea for a fragrant, subtle gourmet taste. Steep a pot of tea and use the liquid to cook your rice instead of using plain water. For those less adventurous, start with a more simple flavour such as Earl Grey, English Breakfast or Chamomile tea. For an economical option, use the tea bag left over from your morning cup of tea.

Add zing with zest: For a zesty citrus spin on your rice dish, grate lemon, lime or orange zest into the rice’s cooking water as it’s boiling. Be sure to thoroughly wash your fruit with warm, soapy water before grating the zest into the water. For a more gourmet taste sensation, try a combination of citrus fruits in one rice dish.

Cut cooking time: Risotto is a wonderful meal or side dish option enjoyed by all ages, but it takes time to make.  Using instant rice in a risotto dish can cut in half the time it takes to make traditional risotto.

air-canada-rouge-plane

Air Canada Rouge is a budget airline, which is owned by Air Canada of course.

We found some good discounts a few months ago, so we booked Air Canada Rouge to go to Los Angeles. It was only $287 for economy class, which was a great deal as tickets are usual around $500 or $600. Definitely looks for coupon codes and do a lot of research before booking any flights. Good thing we had Mandu to keep an eye out of the prices for a few weeks.

air-canada-rouge-metro-vancouver

We had no issues lifting off from Vancouver. It was a tiny bit delayed because of a few people from connecting flights.

air-canada-rouge-inner

The economy seats were quite cramped. You get what you pay for. No entertainment and you do have to pay for checking in bags. Since we were only gone for 5 days, the girls and I just carried a small carry-on to avoid extra fees.

air-canada-rouge-drink

All the food needs to be purchased off a menu, but we decided to wait till we got to LA to eat. You only get 1 complimentary beverage during the flight since it’s just under 3 hours. Before getting on the plane, I made a stop to Starbucks to grab a Venti water.

The flight is pretty boring as there really isn’t much to look at outside the window except for mostly farm land. I just brought my laptop with ear buds to keep me entertained. Some other people just slept the entire way there.

air-canada-rouge-LA

Once we were flying over LA, you can help but to stare at the vast size of Los Angeles. From the place, we could see the Hollywood sign.

Overall, the flight was smooth and not any complaints. Just remember to bring some entertainment on board, so you don’t lose your mind.

allegiant-air-BLI

Allegiant Air had a package deal to Las Vegas from Bellingham and it was time for a family vacation. A lot of people take advantage of their cheap packages. You pack a heck of a lot more if you fly out of Vancouver.

A lot of Vancouverites, just drive down to Bellingham to take a flight. Seriously, you save so much money.

allegiant-air-flight

The Bellingham International Airport is quite small, so you need to walk outside past the gate to enter the plane.

allegiant-air-view

The plane ride was about 2.5 hours and you get some nice view of the mountains on the west coast. I don’t really know where I was since the plane didn’t have those digital maps on the plane.

The flight did not provide any complimentary snacks or beverages. All items, you will have to purchase with your credit card. They do not take cash. Don’t expect much from the Allegent Air. They are quite known for their delays and lack of service.

Luckily, when didn’t have any delays on our flight, but the plane before us had mechanical issues, so their flight was delayed 5 hours. Always make sure you have a buffer of time just in case something like that happens.

allegiant-air-vegas

As the plane got close to Las Vegas, you can clearly see The Strip. The buildings are so huge, you can see them from so far away. Granted, the airport is only about 10 minutes away from The Strip.

Korean-Air-plane

Up up away! Another visit to South Korea this month. This time we decided to take Korean Air because all other flights were sold out on such short notice. We booked it a day before we departed. From Vancouver to South Korea, it took about 11 hours to fly. I always dread these flight but I found that sleeping through everything except for meals makes the ride less long.

I usually get really annoyed after 4 hours because I am sitting in the same position. I need a lot of entertainment to keep me occupied.

Korean-Air-rows

The configuration of this plane was 3 – 3- 3 so, it’s a packed plane. I definitely like Air Canada a bit better because they have 2-3-2.

Korean-Air-depart

Take off was pretty smooth, but I found the in-flight entertainment console to be a bit dated. You have new movies and games, but I generally spend more time on my laptop. As they don’t have plugs, my computer died after a few hours.

Korean-Air-snack

An hour after the plane takes off, we are given a beverage and a pack of Honey Roasted Peanuts. I wasn’t a fan of the peanuts since they were encrusted in sugar. I like my peanuts with salt only…so I gave the rest to M to eat.

You can choose anything for your beverage. You can even get wine or beer, but I decided not to since I find drinking alcohol on the plane gives me a headache.

Korean-Air-bibimbap

Bibimbap is an iconic and popular Korean dish. Any time I ask people about Korean Air food, they rave about this dish.

It also come with pickles, fruit and seaweed soup.

Korean-Air-bap

You mix the rice, vegetables, gochujang (chili pepper sauce), and sesame oil. This is what you get! It’s definitely satisfying but still not as good as what you would get at a restaurant.

Korean-Air-beef

Another option is the beef dish with vegetables and potatoes. You also get fruit, a salad, and bread. It’s definitely not as exciting as bibimbap. If you have the choice, definitely go with the bibimbap.

Korean-Air-chicken

For our second dish, we got a choice between beef, chicken and fish. M and I both chose chicken. It has a celery salad, cheesecake and bread on the side. It was not that interesting. The cheesecake was warm and it ruined that whole experience. My salad was also a bit warm.

Throughout the flight, they go up and down the isles offering complimentary juice or alcohol. It’s a nice touch.

Korean-Air-arrive

As the plane made it’s final destination to Incheon Airport, I was happy I could enjoy some good Korean food. The only highlight of Korean Air’s food offerings is the bibimbap. 11 hours on the plane and my butt was already sore.

air canada beijing to vancouver

So close to home, yet so far. After a 2 hour layover in Beijing (PEK), we boarded Air Canada. It took about 11 hours to get back. I definitely packed enough music and TV shows to last me through those hours. It wasn’t easy, but lots of naps were needed.

air canada beijing to vancouver

We first started with a snack. We got Pretzels and our beverage of choice. I asked for a can of tomato juice and they were kind enough to give me the whole can, usually if you don’t ask, they just give you a glass. I always get very thirsty on plane rides, so I make sure I drink a lot.

A few hours later, dinner was served. It was fried rice, steamed vegetables, and chicken in hot and sour sauce. It also came with pudding, a salad, bread and water. It tasted ok, but I wasn’t very impressed.

After this, I got bored for a very long time. Kids were crying, people were snoring, and I was just glad I had noise cancelling headphones. At some point I think I fell asleep.

Breakfast time! We had fruits, bread with jam and butter. The main item was scrambled eggs with mushrooms and potatoes.

The alternative item you could have gotten was congee. Both options sounded good, but I really just wanted eggs.

air canada beijing to vancouver

Overall, the food was ok, but not super impressive. After travelling Air Canada for a few years, the food is pretty standard and doesn’t really vary too much. It changes depending on your destination, but there are the same pieces.

AirChina-plane

Before we could get back to Canada, we needed to stop at Beijing for a connecting flight. From Incheon Airport in South Korea, the only available flight was through Air China. The reviews seemed ok, but I was a bit scared since I’ve never taken Air China before.

The duration of the flight was about an hour and 45 minutes. Not a bad flight time and we also got a meal! Our flight was around noon, so we got lunch. I was definitely anticipating food.

Air China Star Alliance

The configuration of the plane has 2 seats on the side and then 3 in the centre. I always avoid the centre ones since I love a nice view from the plane. Plus since it was just M and I, we didn’t want to sit with strangers.

AirChina-tv

The screen and controller seemed a bit ghetto, so I just left it alone.

AirChina-lunch

For lunch there was chicken and vegetables yi mein noodles with bread, and a salad for lunch. You also get your choice of beverage. The quality wasn’t bad at all. It was much better than Air Canada by a long shot.

I understood less than half on the things on the flight since I don’t understand Korean, Chinese or really badly spoken English. We tried to listen to the announcements, but we failed miserably.

korea

M and I headed to Seoul, South Korea from Vancouver via Air Canada. It was the cheapest option that required no stopovers. As long as I get to my destination without any issues, I am fine with flying Air Canada. A lot of people think Air Canada is pretty crappy, but I’ve never had any issues.

AIr Canada Korea Vancouver

This plane model had a 2-3-2 configuration, so sitting on the sides was great because we didn’t have to bother a stranger when going to the washroom.

Air Canada Vancouver Korea

Our seats also had a USB port on the left and an outlet on the right. Not all seats will have the outlet, so when choosing your seat, refer to their plane layout.

About an hour after takeoff, we were given out first meal with 2 options – chicken and potatoes or beef on rice. It also comes with a salad, brownie, bread, water and another drink of your choice. A popular option was ordering wine or beer. Since it comes free, might as well booze it up.

Then they dimmed the lights and created an artificial “night time”. I didn’t mind it since it helps to combat that time difference.

After this, they gave us our next meal! Japchae aka Korean sweet potato noodles with pork. I guess they customized the meals since we are flying to Korea. There is also fruit, bread, and a drink of your choice.

Air Canada Vancouver Korea

Japchae

We took another naptime and then about an hour before we land, they gave us an option of having cup noodles. It was chicken flavour and the stewardesses were calling it chicken noodle soup. I thought it was funny.

Chicken Flavoured Cup Noodles

All the food was decent and the stewardesses were nice. It was an ok flight and we survived those 10 hours without any hassles.  Other airlines have better food, but I don’t want to pay more just for the food. A lot of people told me to take Cathay Pacific or Korean Air, but it wasn’t an option because it was way more expensive during the time we wanted to travel.

WestJet

A week in Chicago has come to an end. Amazing architecture and great food was all enjoyed. A good getaway from Vancouver.

I’m pretty cheap, so as usual, I take WestJet to travel across North America. There’s nothing special about them, but they have good prices and keep it simple. I’ve never really had a problem with any of my flights.

Garrett

Before heading on the plane, I grabbed a few bags of Garrett Popcorn as souvenirs for back home. The most popular item is the Chicago Mix which has half caramel popcorn and cheese popcorn.

Everyone I got the popcorn enjoyed it. I actually liked the caramel popcorn more than the cheese popcorn. If it was just me, I would just get a bag of the caramel. But, if you’re in Chicago, might as well get the Chicago mix right?

You can order online from their website because they now ship to Canada.  Wooot.

WestJet

The take off, waiting for the washroom, and the landing are always the worst part of flying, but when the little food carts pass by, you know they’ve got your attention.

WestJet

You don’t really get meals on the flights, but you can order some if you like. They have these menus in the front pocket of your seat.

WestJet

Junkfood, drinks and sandwiches. If you’re hungry, the prices are quite fair, but you know it won’t be particularly good.

I usually just bring my own snacks onto the flight, so I never order anything.

WestJet

This time around they gave out Macho cheese corn stick, some biscuits and a  beverage. I also got tomato juice.

WestJet

One the second round, there was more Nacho Cheese Corn snack, cookies, and then I got some coke.

It was a short plane ride, so these snack were just he right amount.
