The Ladle: Grilled Cheese + Soup

The Ladle is one of the few places on at the SFU Burnaby campus that will really cater to vegetarians. It’s close by since I’m always at the West Mall Center. It’s cheap and won’t run you out of all your money.

Spicy Vegetable Soup was really nice it is like a tomato soup filled with vegetables. The best part is the spicy kick. It’s not over powering, but it does tingle your taste buds a bit.

They have lots of different types of soups, so you really gotta choose wisely. You can ask to try the soups too if you are unsure of what to get.

Grilled Cheese is my favorite! It is made of whole wheat bread with cheddar and mozzarella cheese in the middle. I honestly think the cheese slices aren’t real slices of cheese but rather the processed slices. I could be wrong though…

Nonetheless, the sandwich was grilled perfectly and had a nice crunch on the outside.

I would say go here if you don’t want to walk all the way to the cornerstone. Too bad there’s no meat here.

Words of Wisdom:

  • Grilled Cheese, Creamy Mushroom Soup, or shepards pie are my Favs
  • Mac & Cheese is super super bland…get some salt and pepper if you get the dish
  • Under $10
  • Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten-Free Friendly
