Ultrafast 15-Minute Grocery Delivery App, Tiggy, Now Serving Kitsilano and North Vancouver

Tiggy, B.C.’s only 15-minute grocery delivery app with no hidden fees that offers local brands and fresh produce, announces it is now delivering to North Vancouver and Kitsilano today, marking a total of 6 micro fulfillment centres across Vancouver Metro since launching in Vancouver last fall, with more delivery zones to be added, including Burnaby in April.

“We’re thrilled to serve more Vancouverites to offer unsurpassed convenience and free, reliable 15-minute delivery to give them back time to do the things they love while also eliminating the need to bulk buy at the grocery store,” said Eugene Biskova, Founder, Tiggy. “People are now ‘Tiggy-ing’ everyday to order just what they need, when they need it for breakfast, lunch and dinner which translates to less waste.”

Experts are increasingly criticizing bulk buying as a major contributor to food waste that accounts for 35.5M tonnes in Canada each year. That’s because consumers tend to stock up, thinking they need more food than they actually do. Grocery items go to waste because consumers are flooded by food choices, or opt for last-minute dinners during the week with friends or family.

With the addition of these new delivery zones, Tiggy now operates 8 micro fulfillment centers in Canada with 6 in Vancouver Metro, and two in downtown Toronto with plans for continued expansion throughout 2022. Tiggy delivers to customers living within a 2 mile radius of each micro fulfillment centre. All deliveries are made by Tiggy’s full-time bicycle couriers to help reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions. Tiggy is also on track to meet its goal of reducing its operational food waste to just 3 per cent.

Tiggy Surplus Bags Now Available on the Too Good To Go App

Tiggy is now offering ‘surplus bags’ on the app Too Good To Go which is a global movement to reduce food waste. Tiggy’s surplus bags contain items such as eggs, milk, bread, veggies and fruits that are about to expire and start at $5 each. Tiggy also offers nearly expired or damaged perishable food items directly on the Tiggy app, with bruised bananas being a top seller in this category.
