Festival Coquitlam is pleased to announce that the Teddy Bear Picnic Concert will return to Coquitlam on Sunday, June 12, 11 am – 4 pm with a toe tapping, kid bopping, live and in-person event for families at the Lake Lafarge Amphitheatre at Town Centre Park. This is the first in-person Teddy Bear Picnic Concert since 2019 and follows last year’s successful virtual concert. The 2022 performers will include the very best in children’s entertainment including Bobs & Lolo, Penny Pom Pom, Mom Bop, Mr. I, Darcy the Magician and more!

Mr. I will emcee the event and entertain between music sets along with a little hocus pocus from a special guest – Darcy the Entertainer – who will be on hand with a few magic tricks up his sleeve.

The line up of performers for the 2022 Teddy Bear Picnic Concert includes:

  • Bobs & Lolo: This talented duo are five-time JUNO nominated singer-songwriters as well as the creators and stars of the upbeat, musical preschool series – Sing, Dance and Play with Bobs & LoLo. Recently named Canada’s Favourite Kids’ Entertainer in a nationwide poll by CBC Music, this dynamic duo is dedicated to connecting children to nature with music, movement and make-believe.

  • Mom Bop: The Mom Bop Band will hit the Teddy Bear Picnic stage with their uplifting “bop til you drop” style of pop music and dance!

  • Mr. I and the Musical Rainbow Students – Janina Russell will join Mr. I and his Musical Rainbow Students from Place des Arts to close off the day with special songs about peace. Mr. I is a local singer, songwriter, composer, music teacher musician and all round nice guy! He’ll be emceeing and performing with this year’s Rainbow Singers.

  • Penny Pom Pom: The effervescent Penny Pom Pom! Created by lifelong performer, professional artist and musician Jessica Mai, the Penny Pom Pom show on Youtube encourages children to create freely, pursue their passions and believe in themselves.

And there’s more! Roaming artists will be on hand for festive fun and a few local groups will showcase performances and demonstrations by their talented students including Yuen’s Martial Arts, Club Aviva and Mellado Dance.

All of the Teddy Bear Picnic Concert performers are looking forward to singing, dancing, and bopping along to the music with local kids and families at Town Centre Park on June 22. See you there!
