Vancouver restaurant icons Seasons in the ParkThe Sandbar and Cardero’s Restaurant are helping families to celebrate Mother’s Day with a series of special take-out menus and on-site dining features available Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9. From scenic patio brunches to gourmet multi-course dinners to enjoy at home, the Sequoia Company of Restaurants offers diners a variety of delicious and memorable ways to show Mom just how much they care.

Seasons in the Park

Set in the scenic surroundings of Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver’s legendary Seasons in the Park is known for its breathtaking views and seasonal menu. On May 8 and 9, the restaurant will be offering Mother’s Day brunch and dinner service on its heated and covered patio overlooking the park’s lush gardens, which are currently in full springtime bloom. Reservations will be available from 10:30 a.m. onwards with the culinary team offering a lineup of elegant West Coast fare, including a special prime rib dinner feature ($39). For those planning an intimate Mother’s Day at home, Seasons in the Park is offering a three-course take-out dinner ($55 per person) that begins with Caesar salad followed by a choice of sablefish or rack of lamb and either chocolate cake or lemon pie for dessert.

Cardero’s Restaurant

Families can treat Mom to a laid-back dining experience on the water this Mother’s Day at Cardero’s Restaurant. The Coal Harbour neighbourhood haunt will be opening early at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 9 and offering a special shrimp and avocado croissant feature in addition to its signature Sunday brunch menu, which includes West Coast breakfast classics and daytime cocktails. In the evening, patrons can partake in a delectable prime rib dinner feature ($39) accompanied by seasonal sides. In addition to its signature to-go offerings, Cardero’s will also be offering a special take-home Mother’s Day menu all weekend long. Designed to be enjoyed at home, the prix-fixe menu ($55 per person) includes a Mediterranean salad, grilled lamb chops, and a zesty lemon tart to finish.

The Sandbar 

Seafood-loving mamas are sure to adore fresh shellfish options and premium sushi from at Granville Island landmark The Sandbar. Throughout Mother’s Day weekend, The Sandbar will be serving up a limited-edition take-home sushi combo ($50) that incudes spinach goma-ae, dynamite rolls, Dungeness crab California rolls and a sashimi duo or Sockeye salmon and tuna.  Families can also pick-up a three-course Mother’s Day dinner ($55 per person) featuring a seasonal green salad followed by a sablefish entrée and classic New York cheesecake. Those who want to take Mom out on the town can visit The Sandbar on Sunday, May 9 for a picturesque waterfront brunch from 10:30 a.m. onwards and enjoy a full line-up of seafood-forward brunch fare, including a special crab and avocado toast feature dish. In the evening, guests can tuck into The Sandbar’s signature Sunday Night Seafood Boil ($90 for two). The Southern-inspired spread comprises a full pound of mussels and clams, jumbo prawns, two lobster tails, Old Bay broth, andouille sausage, potatoes and local corn on the cob.
