The Glutinous Fried Dough is basically a donut sandwich with glutinous mochi-like fillings and other fun and yummy toppings.
“We are so happy to finally bring these new delicious items to BC as they have been so popular in Toronto ”, says franchise owner George Xu in Richmond, “each fried dough takes at least 5 minutes to prepare by hand in the store and we want the best tasting experience for our customers.”
George’s personal favourite is the Glutinous Fried Dough with Taro & Meat Floss, which is a great combination of savoury and sweet ingredients, making it a perfect breakfast or afternoon tea choice.
The Sweet Green Mochi, or Qīngtuán, is a form of dumpling that is green, originating from Jiangnan but now common throughout China. It is made of glutinous rice mixed with Chinese mugwort or barley grass. The salty egg yolk filling is non-traditional but is a fun and innovative way to enjoy the unique flavours and texture of the barley grass mochi.
