McDonalds Canada: Spicy Habanero McChicken Review

McDonalds Canada has brought back the Spicy Habanero McChicken to their menu. Last year, they debuted 3 spicy McChicken burgers – Jalapeno, Habenero, and Ghost Pepper McChicken Sandwiches. They disappeared after the promotion but now it looks like Spicy Habanero McChicken was a hit and has returned.

Inside the burger is breaded seasoned chicken, shredded lettuce, topped with creamy Habanero sauce, on a toasted sesame bun.

We ordered this with extra sauce and there was more so we can taste it along with the seasoned McChicken patty. You need to have the extra sauce to really appreciate the added kick of the Habanero. The regular sauce amount isn’t enough.

The colour of the sauce is more yellow/orange. It has a tiny hint of spice but isn’t too powerful to cause a sweat.

I would also highly recommend getting more habanero sauce on the side so you can dunk your fries into it too.

  1. McDonald’s should spend less on the ad for spicy Habenero mschicken and more on the meal. Miserly. Came with some slivers of lettuce. The pic looks like there is a tomato slice but there isn’t one. Completely disappointing. After eating half I just ate the meat and left back the bread. ….. and that is because I was hungry. Money well wasted. Score -3.

@ Ed What the hell are you talking about? There is no tomato slice on the burger and even if there were that would be disgusting. Stop complaining about stupid things.

Really nothing special. It’s just the chicken burger with a slightly different mayo. Pretty disappointing for six dollars.

  4. The crappiest chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. However it does fit in with all the crappy sandwiches that McDonalds offers. McDonald’s is by far the shittiest restaurant to eat at. Other fast food restaurants have made some changes, but McDonalds, same shit the last 30 years. Prices have gone up, the quality and quantity of the food down.

  5. I bought the burger 3 times before I actually got it lol the staff kept giving me mcchicken. Finally got the burger. Its 5.49$. McChicken with habanero sauce. I thought maybe I’d get some real hot peppers but at least it was affordable. And tastes exactly as I would expect. I enjoyed it. Since I love hot peppers. But geez they are hard to get.
