H2 Kitchen + Bar Debuts New Southern Smokehouse Menu

This summer, The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver’s family-style restaurant, H2 Rotisserie & Bar, has a new look and menu to coincide with the unveiling of its new name, H2 Kitchen + Bar, heralding the launch of a smokehouse menu.

As the past few years merged into one of reflection for many, to the same degree, H2 kept busy as chef and pitmaster Homer Baisa took the reins on the experimentation process. While the subtle transition from “Rotisserie” to “Kitchen” marks the expansion of the restaurant’s offerings into the world of barbecue, don’t worry, H2’s famed rotisserie chicken is still here to stay.

H2 Kitchen + Bar is the ideal trifecta of bar, innovative kitchen and modern dining hall to satisfy your smokehouse desires this season – and for many seasons to come.

Low & Slow
This “low and slow” philosophy is the engine for the restaurant’s new fully-loaded menu of smokehouse classics, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork and more. Discover the best of our smokehouse favourites with ‘The Meat Experience for Four’ and the ‘Bone Board for Four,’ best devoured with family and friends. The Meat Experience for Four serves up a half a pound of brisket and a half pound of pulled pork (each smoked for 12 hours), a side of St. Louis-style ribs (smoked for five hours), and your choice of sauce and four sides. Exclusively available on Fridays and Saturdays, Chef Homer shows off his culinary chops with the Bone Board for Four, featuring a whole bone-in beef chuck plate slow-smoked on a maple, cherry and hickory wood blend, complemented by a choice of four sides. An authentic selection of house-made sauces, including H2 O.G. BBQ and Carolina BBQ, and sides, make the spread all the more Americana. (Pro tip: Order a full-sized side of cornbread and the waffle fries and thank us later.)

The Spirits of the Age
Beyond the new smokehouse classics, H2 Kitchen + Bar introduces an all-new line-up of cocktails with a Southern flair, as well as a comprehensive list of spirits. Good old-fashioned Coca-Cola and peanuts, fassionola, sweet tea and 34 whiskeys bring the South up north. Honouring a 100-year-old tradition, the Working Class Traditions cocktail is a balance of peanut-infused Bulleit Bourbon, Coca-Cola and salted peanuts. Grab a seat at the bar for an evening of iconic libations, like an easygoing Passionfruit Margarita or a classic Hurricane cocktail.

Live Music Returns
Southern hospitality is best savoured with live music. With patio season in full swing, the outdoor patio offers a relaxed ambiance with live entertainment every Thursday to Sunday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Weather permitting, the musicians will perform adjacent to H2’s outdoor patio in the hotel’s courtyard. Surrounded by fire pits, red lounge chairs are seating options to buckle in for a long summer night.
