A&W Canada: Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich Review

A&W is at it again with their new Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich bringing the Southern flavours to Canada. There is 5 oz of crispy, crunchy chicken breast, sweet pickles and a Nashville-inspired aioli on a brioche-style bun. It’s available for a limited time only.

Taste Test

We grabbed it from the closest A&W from us, which is a 5 minute drive away. The chicken breast did stay crunchy after 20 minutes passed by after we left A&W. The heat does build and you make your way through the sandwich and it was a really nice level of spice. The pickes are nice and juicy! Pairs really well with the heat. Just look at the size of those pickles.

For a fast food sandwich, this was really good and we would get it again. Highly recommend!

  1. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich we had was terrible. It was a dried out piece of chicken finger with hot sauce on the bun and 3 ends of pickles.

  2. Tried it the other day. It was tasty but the burger I got looked nothing like the burger on the ad or on this website. The chicken patty was less than a half an inch thick and barely covered the radius of the bun.

    • I tried the Nashville Chicken Sandwich earlier today. What a waste of money.
      Discussed with that decision.

  3. That nashville chicken sandwich was an overpriced let down. Just horrible. Your review is not helpful or accurate at all based on my experience.

  4. My husband and I had your new hot chicken burger and was very disappointed. The chicken was too small and dry and not enough sauce.

  5. The chicken was crunchy and had a slight kick. But overall it was dry and most definately should not be called a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Totally dissapointed. This is not the quality I expect from A&W.

    Would not recommend this

I had a Nashville Chicken Sandwich at Drumheller Alberta two weeks ago. I liked the crunchiness of the crust. It burned my tongue and my tongue is still burned. There was something in that sandwich that was too hot. Could you tell me what was in that sauce or the chicken. I haven’t been able to restore my tongue to its previous state.

You know how it goes. You have a big experience with something. Then you get it and you thing. What the hell. Well that was my experience with the Nashville chicken. Very disappointed. But on to the next. Sorry A&W. this was not your best

  8. I had it today and it was awful. Not spicy at all. This is nothing compared to the Habanero.

    Habanero still my favorite.

  9. My husband and I had the Nashville Chicken Sandwich today and not very good. The breading had a terrible taste that ruined the sandwich. We were hoping it would be comparable to Popeyes chicken sandwich but no we would not return for the sandwich again at A&W. Stick to burgers they are great.
