Prawn Noodle Shop in Wan Chai is where my Grandpa took us for lunch when we were strolling through the Wan Chai area. They serve Malaysian and Singaporean dishes, but mostly just noodle dishes.

The interior was small and the shop got quite busy during peak hours. The restaurant is located half way between Admiralty MTR and Wan Chai MTR. You need to do a little bit of walking, but it isn’t too bad. You will want to walk to get a taste of their noodles.

Coke

Iced Coffee

Mushroom and Sliced Chicken Noodle

Laksa Seafood Noodle

Prawn and Meat Noodle in Creamy Soup

Overall, all the dishes were awesome. It has the homey taste and the quality is there. I would probably eat this all the time if I could. If you are in Hong Kong, definitely check it out.

Inside the Dynasty Club is a restaurant called Imperial City Restaurant that servers Cantonese food. They have an array of roasted meats, dim sum, and sweets. Our relatives took us here to show us some amazing food.

The interior is very pretty and not too crowded. They also have private rooms for dining too.

Mmm…roasted meats!

BBQ Roasted Pork

Crispy Roasted Pork Belly was crazy addictive!!!

Deep Fried Sweet Potato

Marinated Chicken Feet

Steamed dumpling

Soup

Deep Fried Shrimp Paste on Toast

Mango Sago and Pomelo Dessert

Cold Steamed Milk Custard

Steam Cake

Steamed Date Cake

Fresh Fruit – Honey Dew, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Dragon fruit.

All the items were really delicious and everyone enjoyed the items that arrived. The only downside about coming here is that you need to find someone with a membership to dine here.

While roaming around Chai Wan doing some shopping, my Grandpa took us to the International Curry House for some yummy curry at lunch time. I had no idea where he was taking us or why curry of all places.

The International Curry house has been around for 30 years and serving delicious curry to the people of Hong Kong. It has been featured on Lonely Planet and CNNgo.

The interior is alright. Pretty standard and nothing too fancy.

They do have nice chandeliers installed to enhance the atmosphere, but it can be easily missed.

Lamb Skewers were very delicious and comes with a peanut sauce and cucumbers to accompany it. It has a good amount of flavour, but it was a bit on the dry side.

Beef Skewer was similar to the lamb skewer. Since the rub on the outside was similar, it was sometimes a bit hard to tell the difference between the two types of skewers. Each type of meat has their distinct taste but its very subtle.

Vegetable Samosa comes with 6 pieces and a sweet green sauce. It’s not like the traditional samosa you would find at an Indian restaurant. It’s made with wonton wrappers. It still tasted good.

Beef Brisket Curry was very good as well. It’s best to order a side of rice to accompany this saucy dish. I would definitely order this again.

Curry Ox Tail Pot came in a large pot and is best shared amongst 2 or 3 people. The ox tail is very tender and the curry was slightly spicy. You can ask the to adjust the amount of spice to your dishes.

Paratha is pan-fried indian flatbread. It is in no way the same as naan. It didn’t taste very good with curry. I would probably just stick with rice instead.

Overall the food was great, but the service was very mediocre. They charged us for a dish that never arrived at the table and took a while to correct the issue on the bill. The curry and the skewers are good, but it’s not very authentic. It does have a Chinese twist to the dishes. If you come in here expecting 100% authentic Indian dishes, you will be very disappointed.

Words of Wisdom:

  • Mediocre Service
  • Anything with beef is good
  • Wan Chai Station Exit A3
