Wild Blue Named Best Restaurant in Whistler at VanMag Awards

Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar, celebrated for its elevated Pacific Northwest cuisine, is thrilled to announce that it has been named Best Whistler Restaurant at the 36th annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards, held yesterday in Vancouver.

Vancouver Magazine praised Wild Blue for setting a new standard in Whistler dining, noting: “Though resort-adjacent and tourist-focused spots abound in Whistler, our gold winner, Wild Blue, proves that the town can be defined by world-class cuisine as much as by its slopes. The buzzy restaurant is often full of locals (a great sign) and, as one judge stated, ‘The food by chef Alex Chen is masterful with exquisite presentation.’”

Chef Alex Chen’s seasonal menus, a tribute to local farmers and artisans, feature standout dishes such as West Coast oysters, a bone-in bacon chop with apple cider glaze, and geoduck house-made linguini and all made a lasting impression on the judges.

In addition to this remarkable recognition, yesterday Wild Blue was also awarded the #33 spot on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list for 2025, cementing its reputation as one of the country’s premier dining establishments.

“We’re honoured and grateful to be recognized by both Vancouver Magazine and Canada’s 100 Best,” said Neil Henderson, Wild Blue Partner and Restaurant Director. “It’s a true reflection of our team’s passion and dedication, both in the kitchen and front of house.” Partner and Chef Alex Chen added, “These awards mean so much to us. We’re proud to showcase the incredible local and regional ingredients we have here and to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.”
