WA-BAGEL (666 Burrard Street), Vancouver’s first-ever Japanese-style bagel shop, is rolling out its new bagel-making classes on select weekends, beginning February 22, 2025. Led by head baker Yukiko Iikura, these hands-on classes offer guests a rare opportunity to learn the art of making WA-BAGEL’s signature chewy bagels. Interested participants can book online now.
“We’ve always wanted to bring people into our world of Japanese-style bagels, first by opening WA-BAGEL and now by launching bagel-making classes,” says Seigo Nakamura, founder and CEO of Aburi Restaurants Canada. “These classes are fun, interactive, and a great way to build community connection through baking.”
Each bagel-making class can accommodate up to seven participants and the whole experience is three hours. Bakers will have the chance to roll, shape, bake, and, of course, taste their own freshly-made bagels. All classes include complimentary coffee or green tea.
