Vancouver Canadians: Baseball Games are Back for 2022

When the Vancouver Canadians open the gates of Nat Bailey Stadium on Tuesday, April 19 for their home opener, it will mean more than just baseball’s return to the city after a 963-day hiatus. It will also be the first time since 1999 that the C’s will take the field at The Nat in April. 

This season also sees former North Delta coaching whiz Brent Lavallee join as head coach.Set to embark on their second season as the High-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the C’s will play at Nat Bailey 66 times this year over the course of 11 six-game series against their five Northwest League opponents. Each homestand will go from Tuesday to Sunday, with the first series scheduled for April 19-24 against the Eugene Emeralds (San Francisco Giants).The Canadians will play three night games (Tuesday-Thursday) and three day games (Friday-Sunday) in each six-game home series of April and May. Adding to the fun:

  • Fortis BC ‘Nooners at The Nat return on Fridays
  • Saturdays are Nat-inees
  • A&W Family Fun Sundays finish the weekend
  • Saturday games will be played at 7:05 p.m. beginning in June, when they will be accompanied by a total of nine postgame fireworks extravaganzas
  • Three-foot hot dogs are back, being BBQ’ed nightly on a 40-foot smoker
  • The all-new Nutrl porch 

Daily promotions have grown to include BCLC Play Now Tuesdays, RBC We Care Wednesdays and Throwback Thursdays, when the team will wear special throwback jerseys to honor the franchise’s first season as the Canadians in 1978.

Fans will notice a pair of new policies at The Nat this season as well. All bags must be clear and no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. Cashless payments are strongly encouraged throughout the ballpark; a limited number of concession stands will accept multiple forms of payment.Season tickets, half season plans, NatPacks and single-game tickets are available now. The 2022 season begins on April 8 in Spokane, when the C’s travel to Avista Stadium for a three-game series with the Spokane Indians (Rockies) then a six-game set at the Tri-City Dust Devils (Angels) before making their triumphant return to Nat Bailey Stadium on April 19 against Eugene (Giants) for the Home Opener.
