Cornucopia is an annual awakening for the epicurious—an opportunity to celebrate the bold tastes of British Columbia and beyond. Each November, culinary and drink experts from around the world concoct fresh ideas, innovative tastings, creative seminars, and avant-garde entertainment in the mountains of Whistler, BC. From the event’s marquee CRUSH Grand Tasting to intimate winery dinners, Cornucopia is an open invitation to kick up the expectations of what a food and drink festival can be.

Tickets and packages are on sale now for Cornucopia, Whistler’s 26th annual celebration of food and drink.

With crisp temperatures and shorter days heightening our senses, autumn is the perfect time to explore bold and fresh flavours. To complement the changing of the seasons, Whistler Cornucopia is adding new events and experiences over the weekends of November 4-6 and 25-27, book-ending the 11 days of robust back to back programming from November 10-20. One of Cornucopia’s Signature Events, the Murder Mystery Dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro, opens the festival on November 4, offering a thrilling mix of culinary adventure and European ski fashion in one of Whistler’s top restaurants.

“We can hardly wait for the festival to kick off on the first weekend of November. Veteran wineries that have been with us year over year are returning to share their varietals and vintages at Signature Events, seminars, Culinary Stages, and luncheons across Whistler. We’re grateful for their presence, and the inspiration they provide new up and coming wineries to also join this celebration of food and drink. Altogether, wineries will pour over 200 wines – with the largest selection on offer at Crush Grand Tasting.”
– Sue Eckersley, executive director, Watermark Communications

A new and notable Signature Event this year is Drag Me To Brunch on November 20, where your favourite brunch classics are served up with mimosas and Canada’s most beloved drag queens on the catwalk. Expect an entertaining combo of lip-syncing, comedy, cabaret, and dance; attendees are encouraged to add their own zest by donning expressive attire.

Augmenting this year’s unique line up, Comedy Kitchen is cooking up a good night out for you to laugh and be bevy. Three comedians deliver stand-up sets that will have you in stitches, reaching for one of your three included drinks on November 17.

For the epicurious looking for the best value at the festival, Culinary Stages are the favourite amongst staff: instructional showcases by chefs preparing several tapas, paired with alcoholic beverages, make for afternoons of pure indulgence without breaking the bank. Consider booking your seat the Culinary Stage with New York and San Diego-based Chef Dave Martin on November 13, where this expert of global cuisine will pair his take on classical mexican dishes with tequila. Sharing cooking tips and techniques featured in his new cookbook The Tequila Diet, you will also have the option to leave with a signed copy. Viva Tequila.

“When the team from Whistler Cornucopia reached out I was so excited. The town itself is so magical… I’m psyched to come back to cook for everyone and explore this amazing Euro mountain village again.”
– Chef Dave Martin, Bravo’s Top Chef
