Kraft Dinner launched their super exclusive Candy KD for Valentine’s Day. They sent us a box and we had to do a review to see how it tastes. It is made with the iconic cheesy taste Canadians know and love with the pink Candy KD flavour packet that adds hints of sweet, sweet candy.

To make this special Candy KD, we boiled the macaroni, strained the water out, added the butter, added the cheese packet, and then this special candy flavouring packet.

Pretty simple and easy to make.

Taste Test

The colour turns into a dark pink and maroon colour once you add the Candy KD flavour packet. It works well for the Valentine’s theme, but plays tricks on my brain.

Upon first bite, my brain was a bit confused. It is cheesy but also tastes like sweet candy. For a savoury dish to become sweet really messes with my mind. It’s still edible but I wouldn’t want endless bowls of Candy KD.

The flavouring is colourful, so it will turn your teeth and lips a bit red too.

Final Thoughts

It’s a limited edition flavour thats super exclusive and fun to try. The rest of my family was grossed out and so was the rest of my Instagram followers.

It’s definitely still edible and fun to try for those who are Kraft Dinner fans.

One of my favourite nuts are pistachios. I would spend countless hours cracking open the shells until my thumb and index finger got raw. It’s a treat when I see pistachios with no shells as the price is usually higher.

Wonderful Pistachios just released their no shelled Honey Roasted Pistachios and Chili Roasted Pistachios across Canada. You can find these at major grocery stores cross Canada.

Honey Roasted Pistachios

The Honey Roasted Pistachios have honey, sugar and a pinch of salt for a sweet and savoury snack. At first taste, it is coated in a good amount of sugar and taste sweet. Then you get they honey flavour with the salt to balance it out. It took a while for my mind to adjust to the flavour as I thought the natural flavour of the pistachios to shine through.

After eating a few more, the flavour is very good.

Chili Roasted Pistachios

The Chili Roasted Pistachios has big, bold flavours of red pepper, garlic and vinegar to tingle your tongue. When you fist pop this into your mouth, it’s quite a strong flavour of acid that hits your tongue from the vinegar and spices. It takes a bit to adjust to. Once that subsides, the aroma of the red pepper and garlic shine through with the hint of spice.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to Pistachios, my personal preference is either lightly salted or no salt. With the new introduction of the Honey Roasted Pistachios and Chili Roasted Pistachios, you can eat it as a snack or incorporate it into a dish. The Chili Roasted Pistachios paired with a salad or Honey Roasted Pistachios as a topping for a dessert.

This is my favourite nut bar flavour. The salt gives it a nice balance with the dark chocolate and the almond texture. The major ingredients in this are almonds, chocolate, sea salt, and puffed quinoa.

Dark Chocolate Almond & Salted Caramel

This has almond, chocolate, rich salted caramel drizzle, and puffed quinoa. Similar to the other version, but not as salty from the caramel drizzle.

Dark Chocolate & Roasted Peanuts

I haven’t had this nut bar in a while as I usually grab the other ones instead. Peanuts aren’t my favourite but it’s good once in a while. This has peanuts, chocolate and a creamy roasted peanut swirl.

Final Thoughts

You can’t go wrong with KIND Bark. All 3 flavours are great and you can’t go wrong with them. There are similar products out there but I really love the ratio of nuts to chocolate.

If I ever have a chocolate and nut cravings, I’ll definitely be picking this up.

Cheetos has just launched Cheetos Leaves in Canada for a limited time only. These fluffy and airy Cheetos are nacho cheese flavoured and perfect for Canada Day on July 1st.

My husband brought me a bag of these since he knows I like to talk about new snacks that hit Canadian grocery stores.

Each Cheetos is shaped like a Canadian maple leaf and the packaging states its Made in Canada too. It’s dangerously cheesy and patriotic too.

If you like regular Cheetos, you’ll enjoy these. In our household, we had the great debate between these soft airy texture or the hard crunchy Cheetos. We were all split. I personally like it crunchy.

One thing that we noticed about Cheetos Leaves is that if they made it with the Flaming Hot seasoning, the leaves would actually be red instead of orange. But then again, little kids may not like that.

Nonetheless, these maple leaf shaped Cheetos are sure to be a hit at any party. Can’t go wrong with Cheetos.
