Sula Indian Restaurant is pleased to unveil its beautifully refreshed heritage design and enticing new menu additions at its Commercial Drive location. With its elegant ambiance, inspired cocktails, and dedication to exceptional dining, Sula is a beloved destination for Indian food in Vancouver. Sula Commercial Drive offers lunch and dinner service daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekend brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Refreshed Heritage Design
Located in the heart of Commercial Drive, Sula now boasts an elegant interior that draws inspiration from Indian heritage, combining a sophisticated black, cream and gold colour palette with vibrant turquoise, blue, and red accents. Guests are greeted by an Indian antique wooden door adorned with intricate brass detailing, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant showcases custom painting and hand carvings by artist Jayna Simpson, featuring representations of Shiva and the signature Sula elephant. The artwork took over 157 hours to complete. With a spacious main level and an intimate upper seating area, each equipped with an updated marble bar, Sula is an ideal venue for private events and group bookings.
Classic Indian Cuisine
Under the expert guidance of Commercial Drive Head Chef Ghanshyam Giri and Sula Restaurants Executive Chef Kailash, Sula Commercial Drive’s menu highlights classic Indian favourites while introducing exciting new dishes. Diners can now indulge in offerings such as Avocado Papdi Chaat, the flavourful Chicken Shorba— a light coconut-based chicken soup, Masala Curried Mussels, Tandoori Masala Pomfret, and Alleppey Prawn Curry.
Inspired Cocktails
Sula welcomes their new Beverage Director, Zoe Bates, who will oversee the bar program at all three Sula Restaurant locations. The cocktail menu is inspired by signature Indian flavours and liquors not commonly found on Canadian beverage menus. Newly added cocktails at Sula Commercial Drive will include the Gin Jeera, made with Tanqueray gin, lemon, mint, ginger beer, coriander, and cumin, and the Velvet Walker, featuring Johnnie Walker Black Label, allspice, salted caramel syrup, cream, and cream soda.
