French-inspired bistro Mèreon is getting into the spirit of the season and introducing new features and a special five-course feast accompanied by live music and party kits for New Year’s Eve at the Ambleside destination (1479 Clyde Avenue).
In addition to nightly fresh-sheet features and hearty bistro classics like Canard a l’Orange Steak au Poivreand Beef Bourguignon, Mèreon’s culinary team will add Rabbit Fricassée (rabbit leg, pearl onions, bacon, wild mushrooms, leeks, velouté sauce, tagliatelle) to the holiday dinner menu available Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to late.
The Brunch menu gets its own special holiday addition in the form of Eggnog Pain Perdu (thick-cut brioche, salted caramel Chantilly, honeycomb toffee, candied walnuts, served with butter and maple syrup) Wednesday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, Dec. 31, revellers can gather ’round and welcome the new year in fine style with live music, party kits and a five-course feast for the senses that holds true to the Mèreon philosophy of blending tradition with contemporary West Coast flavours. A limited number of reservations for the exclusive New Year’s Eve service are available for $150 per person.
