On Friday, February 17, the Okanagan’s exclusive Martin’s Lane Winery invites true oenophiles to enjoy a remarkable tasting session at Versante Hotel’s Alaïa Lounge.

Martin’s Lane winemaker Shane Munn will host three intimate 1.5-hour sessions at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm. These select groups (limited to 13 people per group) will savour five samples of world-class Pinot Noirs and Rieslings from Martin’s Lane, deftly paired with elegant bites designed by Executive Chef William Lew. Throughout the tasting, Munn will point out the distinctive qualities of each of the wines and the growing conditions in the three estate vineyards that produced them.

The tastings offer participants a view of Alaïa, the champagne and caviar lounge located on the 12th floor of Versante Hotel, currently reserved for hotel and Club Versante guests only.

Likewise, Martin’s Lane Winery in Kelowna is open by appointment only – there are no casual drop-ins. That makes this an exceptional opportunity to try its outstanding wines while learning straight from the winemaker what makes them so memorable. Also, while the wines being poured at this special event are fully allocated, Martin’s Lane is making an exception for attending guests who wish to place orders that day.

Chef Lew’s menu will feature some of the caviar for which Alaïa is known. One dish of Superior Caviar, Pacific Scallop, and King Shrimp is paired with a golden glass of 2014 Naramata Ranch Vineyard Riesling. Another plate featuring Cristal Caviar on dry-aged steelhead is paired with 2019 Fritzi’s Vineyard Pinot Noir. Three other dishes and wines round out this noteworthy tasting.

Tickets, priced at $188 per person (plus tax), are available here.
