Lime announced today it would wrap many of its e-scooters and e-bikes in animal print in Richmond as part of its global Lime In The Wild campaign, which will raise funds to support WWF-Canada’s work. All revenue from rides on the specially wrapped shared e-scooters this summer and into the fall will be donated to WWF-Canada in their fight against climate change. The campaign marks a fun new way for riders to test out Lime’s e-scooters that are still relatively new in Richmond.

“Sustainability is at the core of Lime’s mission and we are thrilled to be living that mission by bringing our Lime in the Wild campaign here to Richmond. We believe our riders share our mission to build a sustainable future where transportation is carbon-free and we anticipate them happily joining us as we team up with WWF-Canada to fight for that vision. We know e-scooters are part of the city of Richmond’s vision for a sustainable transport network and we will continue looking for ways to emphasize the role Lime can play in helping to build that future,” said Chris Iuvancigh, General Manager, Canada at Lime

Since Lime launched in Richmond in May, nearly 9,000 Lime riders have taken over 16,000 trips on Lime vehicles. Lime riders have traveled almost 40,000 kilometres, keeping nearly 4,000 car trips off the road while saving over 2 metric tons of carbon emissions as well as nearly 900 litres of gas.

A quarter of all Lime rides replace an equivalent car trip. To date, Lime riders have avoided more than 75 million car trips globally, preventing more than 26,000+ tons of carbon emissions, more than any other shared electric vehicle company in the world.

Sustainability is at the heart of Lime’s mission. Lime committed to an ambitious goal to be Net Zero by 2030 and became the first and only micromobility operator to commit to a science-based target to include all emissions, including hardware production, the leading global standard for corporate carbon targets aligned with the Paris Climate Accord. The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) was developed by WWF, World Resources Institute, the UN Global Compact, among other members. Lime is honored to support local environmental initiatives in cities around the world, while forging global partnerships with leading environmental organizations like the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). As part of this global approach, we’ve incorporated the UN Sustainable Development Goals into our global sustainability framework.
