Beloved Gastown restaurant Jules Bistro is marking 15 successful years as a staple of the downtown Vancouver dining scene by inviting friends and fans of its authentic French fare to join in the celebration and enjoy 15% off all menu items from Tuesday, March 8 to Saturday, March 12.

The limited-time-only feature is available from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and applies to all items on the Jules menu and includes such quintessential favourites as Croque-Monsieur ou Madame (served with fries or salad),French Onion Soup (gratinée),Beef Bourguignon (buttered rigatoni), Salad Niçoise( mixed greens, potatoes, sundried tomatoes, red peppers, olivers, tuna, anchovies, hard-boiled egg), and Crème Caramel, among others.

Opened by Chef/Owner Emmanuel Joinville in 2007, Jules Bistro quickly carved out a reputation par excellence thanks to its West Coast-inspired, seasonally informed spins on authentic French cuisine, cozy and inviting dining quarters, and inimitable sense of hospitality.

Joinville began his kitchen career in 1984 in his hometown of Dijon, France as an apprentice at Chef Rene Villard’s 3-star Michelin restaurant Chateau Bourgogne, and climbed the culinary ranks to earn his own stripes as an acclaimed and well-respected chef and restaurateur prior to emigrating to Vancouver with his family in 2000.

In addition to its à-la-carte options, Jules also offers a daily three-course table d’hôte lunch option from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that features a starter choice of Soup du Jour or Bistro Salad, a main selection of either Bavette À L’échalote or Seared Lois Lake Steelhead (both served with salad or fries) and Chocolate Terrine with Port Glaze as a sweet finish for $33 per person plus tax.

Nightly from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., the bistro features a tasting menu for $63 per person plus tax that offers a first-course choice of French Onion Soup Gratinée, Escargots Bourguignonne or Chicken Liver Mousse, a second-course selection of Garlic Butter Wild Argentinian Prawns or Seared Hokkaido Scallops, an entrée-course choice of Beef Bourguignon or Fraser Valley Moulard Duck Confit and a decadent selection of desserts including Chocolate-Chili Tart, Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Buttermilk Pannacotta or Crème Caramel.

Bridging the lunch and dinner gap is Jules’ ever-popular Happy Hour service, which offers diners a variety of featured wines by the glass ($6) or bottle ($30) in addition to a curated selection of nibbles, noshes and small plates offered at special prices daily from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and all day on Thursdays.

“This is truly a time for all of us at Jules to say ‘à votre santé’ to our many longtime fans, friends, and family,” says Joinville. “The last two years were incredibly difficult, but we were able to weather the storm thanks to their continued support. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with them and raising our glasses to brighter days ahead for all of us.”
