The Chefs’ Table Society of BC (CTS) is excited to present the 8th Annual “Joy of Feeding” – a fundraiser celebration of cultures and foods from around the world, scheduled for November 2, 2023 in support of Food Stash Foundation. The 2023 event will take place indoors for the first time at the historic Heritage Hall in Vancouver, BC, and features 8 local chefs as home cooks, celebrating their heritage and families through food. Chefs will incorporate surplus (loosely referred to as “rescued”) foods into their delicious recipes.

Joy of Feeding celebrates homes cooking from some of our city’s most renowned chefs who themselves were born to parents from all over the world—imagine the dinner table of a Portuguese father and Chinese mother! Attendees will embark on a culinary journey through a myriad of global flavors, sampling authentic recipes handed down through generations.

This year, the “Joy of Feeding”, founded by Vij’s Co-owner/Chef Meeru Dhalwala, will partner with Food Stash, a local registered charity dedicated to reducing food waste and food insecurity in Vancouver. Partial proceeds from the “Joy of Feeding” fundraiser will directly benefit the Food Stash Foundation’s initiatives, ensuring that surplus food reaches those who need it most and supporting sustainable food practices in our community. Partial funds will also support the Chefs’ Table Society’s long-term legacy project, the CTS Culinary Centre, that will become a home for the culinary community to provide education, mentorship and support sustainability initiatives for the culinary industry.

“Cooking is the doorway to caring about where our food comes from, taking care of our families, and taking care of our health.” – Meeru Dhalwala, Creator and Chair of Joy of Feeding.
