Gringo, the beloved Mexi-Cali eatery, is thrilled to announce its 10th anniversary celebration, marking a decade of providing a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for its loyal patrons. Founded in October 2013 with its inaugural location in the heart of Gastown’s Blood Alley, the casual cantina quickly became a fan favorite for its friendly faces, flavorful bites, and tasty tongue-in-cheek libations.

Over the years, Gringo’s popularity soared, prompting the opening of its second location on Davie Street in July 2022. And exciting news for food enthusiasts on the North Shore, Gringo Cantina is soon to join Lower Lonsdale’s impressive lineup of restaurants.

To commemorate this significant milestone, Gringo is inviting everyone to join in the festivities at its Gastown location on Friday and Saturday, October 13th and 14th. The celebration promises a pink plethora of giveaways giveaways and an unforgettable evening of enjoyment from 6 p.m. to midnight each night.

Highlights of the 10th-anniversary celebration include:

  • Buy The Bill’ Sombrero Draws: Gringo will host two rounds of ‘Buy The Bill’ sombrero draws each night, where one lucky table will have their entire bill covered by Gringo at the time of the draw.
  • Gift Card Giveaways: Ten lucky guests each night will receive gift cards to indulge in Gringo’s delectable dishes and refreshing beach buckets.
  • Limited-Edition 10-Year Anniversary Trucker Hat: Gringo has crafted an ultra-exclusive 10-year anniversary trucker hat, and ten of these coveted items will be up for grabs over the two days. Winners will be selected from guest names and contact information written on the back of their receipts and drawn from the sombrero. Expect additional surprise prizes throughout the weekend.

Here is the special menu that will be available for the celebration.

“Gringo was opened with a lot of heart and basically no money. I just really wanted to build something where literally everyone could feel welcomed and enjoy themselves regardless of who they were or how much money they made. If you’d told me 10 years ago that Gringo would be where it is now, I honestly wouldn’t have believed you. I’m just so honored that there are so many people over the years that appreciate what Gringo is and always has been. A safe space where everyone are treated like people and not just a number. We are unbelievably excited to invite fans of Gringo to celebrate this milestone with us,” says restaurant founder Shoel Davidson. “We pride ourselves on being an enthusiastic personality-fueled team passionate about what we do and I believe our locations reflect that. We most of all want to thank all of our family, friends, and insanely loyal patrons who helped get us to this point and what better way to do that than with tequila and tacos? It’s going to be a good time.”

Gringo’s Gastown (27 Blood Alley Square) and West End (1074 Davie St.) locations are open for walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis. Gastown is open Sundays through Thursdays from noon to 1 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 2 a.m. Davie is open Sundays through Thursdays from noon to midnight and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 1 a.m. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy $3.00 tacos during happy hour (2 – 5 p.m.) at the Davie Street location.
Exciting times lie ahead as Gringo expands with its forthcoming North Van location (100 East 2nd St.).
