Give thanks and celebrate togetherness this autumn with new Thanksgiving feasts from beloved Filipino food destination Goldilocks Bake Shop (Goldilocks). Indulge in two Philippine pork meatloaf “Embotido” meal options with all the fixings, as well as whole cakes and pies, including a full line of popular ube (purple yam) sweets.

Goldilocks’ Thanksgiving offerings can be ordered by calling either of its two locations, 604-736-7744 in Burnaby or 604-876-2464 in Vancouver, or emailing goldilocksyvr@gmail.com by October 5, 2022 for pick-up on October 8, 2022. Guests can also walk-in to choose from a variety of sweet and savoury options.

“Celebrating and dining together is a big part of Filipino culture, especially during holiday events such as Thanksgiving,” says Maj Yee, managing director of Goldilocks Bake Shop Canada. “We at Goldilocks wanted to create special Thanksgiving feasts from our foodshop this year to make it easier for people to enjoy their favourites at home with their loved ones. Instead of a traditional turkey, we’re featuring Embotido, a hearty Philippine pork meatloaf, with a variety of sides. And of course, don’t forget the desserts!”

Goldilocks Thanksgiving Feasts ($65) include two options, which serve four to six people:

Option A
Embotido
 – Philippine pork meatloaf
Pancit Palabok Special with Lechon Carajay – classic Filipino rice noodle with shrimp-based and annatto sauce, diced pork and tofu and garnished with green onions, egg, tinapa (smoked fish) and ground chicharron (pork rinds); topped with three times cooked pork belly
Pritong Lumpia (six halves) – vegetarian spring rolls
Mini Chicken BBQ (six pieces) – marinated skewers with house BBQ sauce
Choice between Pan de Leche (Hawaiian-style rolls) or 6” Cheese Loaf (pull apart loaf filled with whipped cream cheese)

Option B
Embotido
 – Philippine pork meatloaf
Tocino Fried Rice – garlic fried rice with Philippine bacon, brussels sprouts and fried eggs
Mini Chicken BBQ (six pieces) – marinated skewers with house BBQ sauce
Empanadas (six pieces) with choice of beef, pork and/or adobo chicken
Choice between Pan de Leche (Hawaiian-style rolls) or 6”Cheese Loaf (pull apart loaf filled with whipped cream cheese)

Guests can also add-on Goldilocks’ famous ube (purple yam) treats, including Ube Premium Cake (from $20), featuring ube royal cake, whipping cream and ice cream filling; Ube Dulce de Leche ($17) with ube chiffon cake and leche flan on top; and Ube Caramel Cake (from $20). Ube is known for its distinct nutty, sweet vanilla flavour and is often found in Filipino sweets.

“Our ube collection features some of our most popular desserts,” adds Yee. “We encourage guests to also visit our shops to see our full line, which also includes cookies and pastries.”

Other special whole cakes and pies include: Egg Pie ($21.25), a Filipino egg custard pie; Buko Pie ($27), a popular young coconut custard pie; and a Mocha Caramel Cake (from $20).
