Today, Eataly Toronto, the authentic Italian marketplace, announces a partnership with celebrated Milanese restaurant Ratanà, a modern osteria, arguably the first of its kind in Italy, with a focus on sustainable food culture.

In celebration of La Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo (The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World) – and in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto – Ratanà’s Chef Cesare Battisti will take over Trattoria Milano, Eataly Toronto’s second floor restaurant inspired by Milan’s iconic culture, design and cuisine. From November 17 to November 19, 2022, Chef Cesare will serve some of his most beloved dishes, offering a modern interpretation of the traditional Milanese and Lombardian culinary tradition.

Chef Cesare Battisti hails from a Milanese family of many generations. After a long period working throughout Europe, Chef Cesare returned home to Milan where he gained valuable experience working at some of the city’s most acclaimed traditional Milanese restaurants. In September 2009, Chef Cesare opened Ristorante Ratanà which he manages with his partner, sommelier Federica Fabi. The restaurant is housed in a historical building dating back to the 1800’s and is located among the futuristic constructions of the Garibaldi and Porta Nuova district. Chef Cesare’s cooking is driven by a strong desire to modernize traditional Milanese cooking as he remembers it from childhood.

Programming for the Ratanà partnership with Eataly Toronto’s Trattoria Milano includes:
