I was wandering around SFU Surrey and I was pretty hungry. M went to KFC to get their big box meal and I went to Taco Bell to get their other big box meal.

My Taco Bell Big Box Meal was so big that all the contents could not even fit inside! It was either $8 or $10, but it was pretty huge.

It comes with:

  • Beef Hard Taco
  • Double Decker Taco
  • Crunchwrap Supreme
  • Nachos and Cheese
  • Cinnamon Twists
  • Regular drink

The nachos and cheese were alright. Nothing very special about this. It’s one of those items no one really orders from the regular menu.

The beef hard taco is pretty mediocre as well. It has meat, lettuce and cheese in a hard shelled taco.

This time I finally got lots of meat with it. The only good part is the meat. There is not a lot of cheese on it either.

The Double Decker Taco comes in a soft tortilla with beans with another hard shelled taco and inside is lettuce beef and a bit of cheese. I think this location made this pretty bad since there was so little beef inside.

I am not a bean type of person, so I really hated this taco.

Crunchwrap Supreme is my favorite out of all the items in the Big Box Meal. It has beef, cheese, hard tortilla, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes all wrapped in a grilled soft tortilla. It’s best to grab some hot sauce to accompany this crunchwrap since it makes it so much tastier.

Overall, you get a lot of stuff from the Big Box Meal and you can discover what you like and what you don’t like. I kinda wish I had Taco Time instead.

I started having class at SFU Surrey Campus and I was super excited because I could finally check out Pho Tam! They are known for the best Pho in the Lower Mainland! They may look pretty ghetto, but they do have the best pho and I really had to see for myself.

The interior is alright. It has lots of tables and there is always someone inside chowing down on rice or noodles.

There’s lots to choose from the menu, so it might take you a while to figure out what you want.

Their garnishes looked pretty fresh!

#1 House Special (L-$7.50) has beef and rice noodle in soup. It basically has everything in here. So, if you have no idea what you want in your pho, just choose this.

They also have a special combo, where you can add a spring roll to your pho for $9.75. This was probably the strangest looking spring roll i’ve had, but it was good. Crispy on the outside and savory on the inside.

#7 Well done beef slices Beef tripe and rice noodle in soup (L -$7.50) it has lots of meat and tripe!!

#6 Rare beef slices beef tendon and rice noodle in soup (Large- $7.50) made me super full! There was so much meat inside! Best pho I’ve ever had! This is really worth your money!

It had so much tendon! By the end of the meal, I still had so much tendon. My friends had to basically force feed me to finish the rest.

I don’t remember what this one was, but it looks good too!

#68 Grilled lemon grass chicken  and spring rolls with steamed  rice ($8.50) this was huge! Large slab of chicken, 2 spring rolls and lots of rice!

Pho Tam definitely met my expectations with their huge bowls of pho full of meat! Cheap too!

Words of Wisdom:

Pho Tam on Urbanspoon

Hello Internet! RomanJ here! This time we went to Togo Sushi inside Guildford Mall located in Surrey. I usually avoid going to Togo Sushi because I always dismiss it as a fast food sushi place for mall employees. However this time, my sister and I had a deep craving for sushi and we didn’t want to drive all the way to Vancouver. Since we were already in the mall doing errands, we decided to try Togo Sushi.

Togo Sushi in Guildford Mall is surprisingly nice. It’s brightly lit with dark wooden seats and nice décor setting the atmosphere. To order you have to go up to the counter, place your order then wait at your table with the number. The sushi arrives all together on a plate.

We ordered, assorted sashimi, Alaska Roll and a Maki combo consisting of: a California roll, dynamite roll and a tuna roll.

The Assorted Sashimi ($11.95) has some pretty big pieces of sashimi. Salmon sashimi was surprisingly not bad, however the Tuna sashimi was a big disappointment. The tuna was very cold, making us speculate that it was pre-cut and refrigerated.

The Maki combo ($8.75) was probably the best deal on the menu. The California roll is nothing spectacular but standard, the dynamite roll was surprisingly good; the tempura in the roll was fresh, and the Tuna roll was decent.

The Alaska Roll ($3.95) was extremely good, beyond my expectation from Togo. I believe the salmon covering the roll added the extra flavor to the roll.

Togo Sushi is a decent sushi place, where people can go to get a quick fix of sushi. It does have some decent rolls, however I would not go here looking to try new exotic rolls. Togo Sushi does cater for the people who are on the go and it’s decently price.

Words of Wisdom:

  • Maki Combo ($8.75) probably the best value on the menu
  • Fast food Sushi
