We are one year into the global pandemic and although small, local businesses especially those in the food industry have been immensely affected, Brick’N’Cheese is celebrating a one-year anniversary of their successful ghost kitchen concept with a rebrand and expansion news.

“As the world moves at a faster pace and convenience is appreciated more and more, we want to bring forward flavourful and quality food that satisfies the tastebuds in an easy and convenient way while offering approachability to French fare,” explains Baptiste, one of the owners of Brick’N’Cheese. “We are excited that our concept has been well-received in Vancouver and are working to expand into other major Canadian cities within the next few months.”

Born and raised in France, Baptiste Petit and Samy El Jabri, wanted to bring Vancouverites what the local French eat as it is not just about baguettes, crepes, pain au chocolat, and escargot. In France, French tacos are available at almost every street corner and is a common snack or meal the pair enjoyed. Baptiste and Samy always dreamt of starting something together, but France was already home to too many French tacos shops. Plus, they had another big dream… to explore the world. Two years ago, the two friends arrived in Vancouver and decided to give their second dream a shot and bring their hometown comfort food to the diverse culinary scene in Vancouver; in April 2020, despite the onset of a global pandemic, they launched Brick’N’Cheese, Vancouver’s very first French tacos concept eatery.

At Brick’N’Cheese, each brick is wrapped with high quality protein, crispy golden fries, plenty of cheese, fresh toppings, and their secret cheese sauce folded and heated like a panini then eaten like burritos. The menu currently offers a handful of decadent brick flavours that have been assembled with Vancouverites’ flavour preferences in mind and includes a Farmer brick filled with chicken and nuggets, Mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, and honey mustard; a Hot’N’Spicy brick with two servings of extra lean ground beef, Cheddar cheese, Jalapeño, and Red Hot sauce; and their bestseller, the Signature brick stuffed with both extra lean ground beef, crispy chicken, Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, and chipotle.

As part of the recent rebrand, Brick’N’Cheese will be offering new feature bricks on a quarterly basis. After the introduction of the popular Fish’N’Chips brick earlier in the year, the duo will be launching a limited-edition Tikka Masala brick Tuesday, April 20th. Inspired by the plethora of Indian cuisine in Vancouver, the Tikka Masala brick is a mildly spiced double chicken brick with Mozzarella cheese, fried onions, and hints of curry powder, chili powder, ginger, and garlic at $15.99 each. Available on UberEats, DoorDash, and Skip the Dishes, Brick’N’Cheese is open daily until 11pm.
