Michelin-recommended Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market will once again team up with the Georgia Strait Alliance (GSA) to co-host the eighth annual ‘From Oysters to Orcas’ fundraiser at the downtown seafood dining hotspot at 762 Cambie Street on Wednesday, February 26.
From 7 to 9:30 p.m., the Fanny Bay team will celebrate the rich bounty provided by local waters and the people who ply them by hosting a casual evening of mingling with other supporters of a sustainable Salish Sea while sampling canapés from Head Chef Alex Guido, enjoying oyster shucking demonstrations and hearing from a panel of speakers that includes Marine Ecosystems Senior Environmentalist Anuradha Rao and Tsleil-Waututh Nation (səlilwətaɬ) Cultural and Technical Specialist Michelle George.
Tickets are available at a variety of sliding-scale price points here with all proceeds donated directly to the GSA and its ongoing mission to advocate for the protection of the Strait of Georgia and the Salish Sea.
For more than 30 years, the GSA has mobilized and supported collective action for the protection of a Salish Sea teeming with life where thriving and just communities live in balance with the environment.
“We’re thrilled to once again join forces with the GSA to shine a spotlight on the work that it does for the health and sustainability of the environment that we share,” says Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Bar Co-Owner and Wholesale/Marketing Manager Malindi Taylor. “From Oysters to Orcas is a vital event that raises funds for and awareness of an organization that endeavours to inspire positive, lasting change both now and for future generations.”
