Tommy’s Whole Grain: Vancouver’s First Whole Grain Bakery Opening Soon

Tommy’s Whole Grain (TWG) bakery is opening this winter in Vancouver’s historic Downtown Eastside (338 Powell St, Vancouver). TWG will provide Vancouver with fine sourdough bread, pastries, cakes, croissants and loads more.

“Our aim is to create the best tasting breads and pastries while reducing food waste, and increasing the nutrient density of our food” (Tommy Aird, owner/baker).

TWG is focused on creating local opportunity and advancing sustainable growth within Vancouver and beyond. Our vision is to expand our whole grain community to include not only bakers, growers and millers, but also everybody and anybody. Ultimately, we want to see more people enjoying whole grains than ever before!

As food producers, we have a responsibility to our community. We want to share the most nutritionally and environmentally beneficial food with everyone. We partner with regional small-scale organic grain growers, so we can support the farmers doing the most important work to ensure the food system is equitable and resilient. We are especially excited to be working closely with BC farmers, including sourcing grain from Cedar Isle Farms in Agassiz, BC.

Diana started Foodology in 2010 because she just eats out everyday! She started a food blog to share her love of food with the world! She lives in Vancouver, BC and adores the diversity of food around her. She will go crazy for churros and lattes.
