Proudly inauthentic Mexi-Cali hotspot Gringo Davie Street is marking its first anniversary and the return of Pride Week with an exciting selection of promotional events and food & drink features at its West End cantina (1074 Davie Street) from July 28 to August 6.

Opening in July 2022, Gringo Davie Street transported the same laidback vibes and signature menu of food and drink favourites from the OG Gastown location as well as adding several exclusive options such as fish tacos & churros to the heart of the city’s vibrant Davie Village.

The staff at Gringo Davie will raise a salt-rimmed glass to its first year as part of the West End Community and Pride Week with an array of Pride-themed features that include a ‘Flight of the Divas’ flight of Rumiah Carey, Ginet Jackson, Tequila Turner and Bourbra Streisand shooters for $12. With the sale of each flight, $2 will be donated to QMUNITY, a local non-profit that works to improve the lives of queer, trans and Two-Spirit people and their allies and allow them to fully self-express while fostering a sense of inclusivity.

Gringo Davie will celebrate its official 1yr anniversary and kick off Pride Week by hosting a Mariachi Band on Friday, July 28 from 6-9 p.m. and ‘Find the Flamingo’ scavenger hunt July 28 through August 6 that will challenge intrepid explorers to use daily hints offered on Gringo’s IG account @tacoboutgringo to find Gringo flamingo stickers hidden throughout the West End neighbourhood and redeem them for Gringo gift cards.

Throughout Pride Week, Gringo Davie will also showcase a colourful cocktail feature ‘Pocket Full of Sunshine’ that mingles tequila, blue raspberry, coconut syrup, lime juice & topped with Jarritos pineapple soda, CC & Ginger for $5/can, and twice-daily ‘Buy The Bill’ sombrero draws where Gringo will take care of the entire bill for one lucky table up to the time of the draw.

During Pride 2023 weekend [Aug 5th & 6th] Gringo will also be handing out its delicious cinnamon sugar Churros and a variety of Jarritos flavoured sodas.

“We founded Gringo with a desire to connect to the unique sense of community that exists in Gastown and kept that same core value in mind when we opened our second location in the West End,” says Gringo Restaurant founder Shoel Davidson“This is our way of celebrating one of the best inclusive and diverse events on the calendar and thanking all of our friends, family and patrons who have helped make our first year an unforgettable experience in a community that really cares about one another.”

Gringo’s Gastown (27 Blood Alley Square) and West End (1074 Davie St.) locations are open for walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis Sundays through Thursdays from noon to 1 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 2 a.m.
