Cask Whisky Vault x Glenmorangie Distillery whisky tasting, March 10

Whisky enthusiasts are invited to gather at Club Versante’s Cask Whisky Vault for an opulent celebration of premium whiskies with Glenmorangie Distillery on Friday, March 10.

This two-hour session, led by Glenmorangie Brand Ambassador Bryan Simpson, includes a welcome cocktail and four remarkably-complex single malts. As the evening unfolds, guests will grow a more intimate understanding of each whisky, its unique flavours and aromas, and the intricate processes used to age each release to perfection. Guests will also have the opportunity to sample A Tale of the Forest, and the 25 year-aged Sonoma Cask Reserve — two of the distillery’s superior limited-edition single malts. The complete lineup of single malts being showcased includes:

Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year Old (within welcome cocktail): A balanced complexity of sweet vanilla with a burst of flowery fruitiness, and a finish with hints of orange and peach.

Glenmorangie Sonoma-Cutrer 25 Year Old Reserve: One of Glenmorangie’s most unique and rare whiskies, finished in white wine casks from the celebrated winery of Sonoma-Cutrer in the Sonoma Valley. Its fresh and floral aroma includes scents of carnations, roses and narcissi, with hallmark tones of vanilla, pear, peach, and subtle mandarin orange. The finish is subtle and honeyed, with suggestions of cocoa powder, toffee, apple, and fudge. Only 1,000 bottles of this unrepeatable creation have been produced and hand-signed by award-winning Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden.

Glenmorangie 18 Year Old: A longer maturation process combined with additional maturation in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks provides added depth and complexity, resulting in an aroma that is rich, rounded and sweet with dried fruits and a floral fragrance. The finish is both sweet and dry, with notes of dried fruit and nuttiness. 

Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 14 Year Old: Aged in bourbon and port casks, this award-winning single malt features an aroma of Turkish delight, honeysuckle, tangerines, and dark chocolate. The finish is long lasting, with a silky aftertaste of dark chocolate mints and traces of orange.

Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest: This limited-edition release is a memorable spirit crafted with true innovation. A captivating nod to nature, the whisky is infused with natural botanicals (including juniper berries, birch wood and heather), bringing flavours of peppermint, menthol, eucalyptus, pine, wood sap, angelica, bitter orange, and a hint of aromatic wood smoke to its impressive flavour profile.

Completing the interactive sipping experience are a few irresistible light bites, including: Chili Nuts; Tonka Bean Nama Truffles; House-made Salt & Pepper Chips; and Maple Chicharrónes.

Cask Whisky Vault is located at 8400 W Rd, Richmond (street level, adjacent to Versante Hotel). Hours of operation are: Wed, Thurs, and Sun from 6pm – 1am; Fri and Sat from 6pm – 2am. Live music acts perform Thurs – Sun.
