In celebration of National Pancake Day (February 21), Fuwa Fuwa, North America’s largest soufflé pancake and dessert café, is giving away 5,000 of their signature soufflé pancakes to customers and community organizations across multiple Canadian locations in Ontario and Alberta.

The free pancakes will be available for one day only at each location between February 13 and 20 for dine-in. For every in-store giveaway, Fuwa Fuwa will also donate a Soufflé Pancake on that customer’s behalf to a local healthcare worker or post-secondary student unable to travel home for reading week.

To obtain a free Soufflé Pancake (a classic Fuwa Fuwa menu item featuring a soufflé pancake, whipped cream and maple syrup), customers will need to visit the location on the giveaway day, take a photo of themselves making a heart shape with their hands and share it on Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #fuwafuwaforever. Those who can’t make it to a Fuwa Fuwa location can still help get souffle pancakes into the hands of community organizations by following the same steps as those in-store. For every image shared, Fuwa Fuwa will donate a Soufflé Pancake on their behalf and the contributor will be entered to win a $500 Fuwa Fuwa gift card.

I started Fuwa Fuwa with the goal of sharing happiness with sweets,” says Fuwa Fuwa Founder Benson Lau. “Growing up, some of the best times I had with my family and friends were shared over dessert. With Valentine’s day and Family Day, February is the perfect month for making the time spent with loved ones even sweeter and sharing that love with our communities.”

Fuwa Fuwa will be giving away up to 300 pancakes at each of the following locations on the corresponding date and hours:

February 13: Calgary Kensington, 1111 Kensington Rd NW (Calgary), 11am – 9:30pm
February 14: Midtown Toronto, 2471 Yonge Street (Toronto), 12pm – 8:30pm

Fuwa Fuwa will begin to donate pancakes to community organizations on National Pancake Day (February 21).

Fuwa Fuwa will also be offering $6 single pancakes at participating locations on February 21 for National Pancake Day.

Meaning “Fluffy Fluffy”, Fuwa Fuwa opened the doors to its first Toronto location in 2018 and has since grown to twelve locations, including ten in Canada along with one in Manchester (UK) and Xiamen (China). Each of their fluffy pancakes begins with egg whites whipped to soft peaks, essential to their airy quality, and is then cooked very slowly at low temperature. Tasting like a delicate balance between a soufflé and a traditional pancake, they’re soft, bouncy, and light. Each pancake at Fuwa Fuwa is hand-made to order with fresh ingredients and topped with a selection of fruits, creams, syrups and house sauces. In recent years, Fuwa Fuwa has expanded their menu options to include items beyond their signature pancakes, including “croffles” as well as Korean-style facarons, basque burnt cheesecake, signature crepes, specialty waffles and more.
