Since opening late last year, Mount Pleasant’s community pub Hero’s Welcome (3917 Main Street) has unveiled a slate of dynamic weekly programming and one of its most popular is the launch of Wild Ones Karaoke on Wednesdays with Stephanie Greenwood and anchored by local legend Ron Cahill once a month. He’s back at it on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
“It’s great to be back and to see the location evolve into Hero’s Welcome,” says Cahill. “I worked at the #298 ANAF for approximately 18 years, twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays. This included hosting karaoke nights, as well as playing with my retro rock band ‘Nasty Habits’. During that time, we were recognized as one of the best places for karaoke in Vancouver. It’s been great fun so far, meeting new people and seeing some familiar faces as well.”
While Cahill visits Hero’s Welcome once a month, the talented Greenwood leads the weekly charge of the Wild Ones Karaoke program. A Vancouver-born and raised gal, she has always loved singing and grew-up with rock-n-roll.
“We are thrilled to have such amazing talent guiding our karaoke nights,” says Simon Fallick, co-owner of Hero’s Welcome. “Both Ron and Stephanie are amazing at their craft, and the community response has been wonderful to see so far.”
Wild Ones Karaoke at Hero’s Welcome starts at 8 p.m. weekly. It is a traditional open karaoke format run off of Karafun. Guests
can sign-up with their choice of song and showcase their vocal range on stage.
During the evening, Hero’s full food menu is available, from sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs, and more, in addition to drink specials. Part proceeds from every Hero’s Lager ordered will continue to raise funds for local veterans’ causes.
Hero’s Welcome is currently a 19+ pub. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis or by making a reservation at heros-welcome.com.
