Field & Social: 2021 spring menu, just in-time for picnic season

Vancouver’s original salad shop, Field & Social, has undergone a spring menu refresh – launching three new craveable salads by culinary director Stewart Boyles. Easily transportable to the park or beach, each creation features good, wholesome ingredients, including Canadian-grown farro and a collaboration with local bacon brand, One Arrow.

“Our focus for spring and summer is fresh, simple, and big flavours with a diverse range of styles, salads people will keep coming back for a few times a week,” says Boyles. “We also want to continue working with our talented, local purveyors, like One Arrow. I’ve known Heat Laliberte for a while now, and his commitment to ethical food sourcing aligns with ours. And, his naturally-smoked bacon is second to none.”

Field & Social’s three new additions include The Bacon & Egg Miso Bowl, a hearty carbonara-style salad featuring One Arrow black pepper bacon, ramen egg, romaine, arugula, orzo pasta, roasted yams, and miso dressing.

The Herb Chicken + Farro is a new every day stalwart with crunch and bursts of flavours in each bite. Ingredients include Canadian-grown farro, cucumber, lemon and thyme-marinated chicken thigh, tomato, feta, romaine, arugula, red onion, house-made hummus, pita chips, and fresh herb dressing.

Last, but not least, the Roasted Corn + White Bean salad is vegan and gluten-free, and packed chopped romaine, kale, chili cauliflower, roasted corn and marinated white beans, red pepper, half an avocado, cilantro, crisp corn tostada, charred Jalapeño and tomato vinaigrette. Seasonal Chilliwack corn will be featured in July.

To celebrate picnic season, Field & Social has created several new Picnic Sets for two or four, making it easier than ever to enjoy those healthy, delicious greens. Each includes a choice of drinks and sweet treats and can be pre-ordered online.

In addition, Field & Social looks to highlight local BC strawberries in the coming weeks with a special collaboration with Maan Farms.
