The team behind el Santo is striking back with Butcher’s Table, a local butcher shop offering more than just meat at the market.

“The mission for Butcher’s Table is to be a resource for the community and provide assistance for all levels of home chefs during this time when people are reluctant to dine out,” says Alejandro Diaz, Managing Director.

Butcher’s Table carries sustainably sourced meat cuts from beef short ribs to Spanish chorizo sausages to special order meats like elk and wild boar. In addition to the conventional butcher shop items, Butcher’s Table has also curated butcher boxes prepackaged with fresh meats and cooking instructions to be prepared and served in the comfort peoples’ homes. These butcher boxes are created and assembled by experienced chefs and include items from premium raw cuts to marinated meats. For those looking for a day off cooking duty, Butcher’s Table also offers freshly prepared comfort food items including Philly Cheesesteaks, steak frites, burgers, soup, and churros to take home.

Not only is it a place to pick up fresh protein needs, Butcher’s Table is also a space for culinary advice; on site are seasoned chefs who are available to provide tips and tricks for homecooked meals. In the upcoming weeks, Executive Chef Sam Fabbro will also be offering homemade marinades, sauces and seasonings, as well as neighborhood favourites such as his hibiscus chili marinade, el Santo molé rub, and sought-after chicharrons for purchase.

To both Alejandro and Sam, what matters the most is to stay connected with the community, bring the best products forward, and provide easy meal options and expertise to help alleviate the stresses that come with these times. Gift cards are available at Butcher’s Table and butcher boxes will be available for purchase beginning of December with 5-day advanced notice required.

Butcher’s Table is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm at River Market.
