Oyama Sushi

Oyama Sushi is located on Kingsway in a large house near Metrotown.  Inside Oyama, there have really cool interior decor such as paintings and this water fall wall. I got really confused walking to the washroom because there were so many walls. After listening to the waitresses chit chat, we determined this restaurant is Korean owned. I find it interesting how most sushi places are owned by Koreans.

After looking at the menu, we decided to have the party tray “D” ($49.99), which contains assorted sashimi, assorted sushi, california roll, alaska roll, and chopped scallop roll.

The sashimi and nigiri were good and they had a large selection with the combo. What we really didn’t like were the rolls. They fell apart easily and had way too much rice. For the price of $49.99, it was not worth it.

In addition to the combo, we added spicy tuna sashimi. Similar to most places, it has the korean hot sauce mixed with sugar.

We also had a large warm sake and a large bottle of Asahi.

Words of Wisdom:

  • Nigiri is not worth it, too much rice

Overall, I thought Oyama Sushi was pretty average compared to most sushi places. For the price you pay, you might as well go to better places in Burnaby like Sushi Garden, Sushi Town and California Sushi. They didn’t have any distinguishable dishes on their menu.

We rate Oyama Sushi:
