Hershey's Gold: Taste Test

Hershey’s just released a new candy bar to their existing line up – Hershey’s Gold. It is a caramelized crème candy with peanuts and pretzels for a salty and sweet treat. I love trying out new candy bars on the market to see if I discover any new innovations. We were sent a box of Hershey’s Gold to give it a taste test to see what we thought.

Taste Test

We took a first bite and then slowly finished the whole bar to get a good mouth feel of Hershey’s Gold. It does have a sweet and salty combination with a bit more on the sweeter side from the caramelized creme.

We definitely tasted a dominant peanut flavour but the textures of the pretzels. Unlike some of the other Hershey’s chocolate bars, this has no cocoa at all.

You have to like peanuts in order to take a liking to Hershey’s Gold. We even did a mini impromptu taste test with a few other people to see what they thought. Of the ones that liked peanuts, it was a hit. For those not so into peanuts, they thought the overall bar was too sweet.
